Hi I'm fixing my old g31m-s and I'd remove 5 blown capacitors, but I made a little mistake and I don't know where the 16v 470mf capacitor goes in this mobo (in this mobo only use a capacitor with these characteristics), I looking for a pic, a scheme or a help about it...thanks!

Re: Replacing a Capacitor in Asrock G31M-S
Most photos of that motherboard are taken from the topside looking down. That makes it very difficult if not impossible to see enough or any printing on the sides of the caps. i suggest that you put your multimeter in continuity mode and put one probe in one of the +12 (YELLOW) connectors on the main power socket (20 or 24 pin) that is on the board and the other probe on the +POSITIVE cap holes one by one until you find either the lowest resistance or a BEEP. Re: Replacing a Capacitor in Asrock G31M-S
Asrock used GSC/Evercon for lots of the 1000u 6.3v units. Actually, any/all evercons should go.
Don't forget that Asrock marks the positive with a half-circle, not the negative! Replace a few at a time- easy to shotgun them and put em in backwards. Ask me how I know.
Caught it before applying power, and did not cause a "kaboom."
If it actually requires a 16v part, it'll be tied to the +/- 12v supply."pokemon go... to hell!"
EOL it...

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition
Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.
Procedure performed:
- Removed backplate
- Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
- Reapplied thermal compound
- Reassembled card
Observed behavior after reassembly:
- GPU powers on and operates normally under...11 Photos -

by IbodHI I have a PC using a Corsair cx600 psu & ASRock B450 Pro4 mother board that won't power on after a shutdown (replaced a dead drive in a raid array) Not the boot drive.
With most things unplugged, including the 24 pin ATX connector, but not the ATX12v to cpu, I have +5.01V on the +5vsb pin 9 from the PSU. When I plug the 24 pin back in to the mobo, the +5vsb fluctuates between 1.1v & 1.9v.
Not sure where to go from here ?
Is the PSU at fault or is the mobo causing the problem
Look forward to any help :-)

by Agent24I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.
The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.
Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
All are CapXon... -
by chth96I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...-
