    Capacitor Rating/List Website

Hi, I recently made a website for seeing the quality of capacitors and thought some of you guys would be interested.

I put a HUGE list together rating capacitors and giving a popular application of the capacitors. I made the site myself and wrote it in html; and I am running it on my own server just for the fun of it. I tried my best to make it look modern and a site you would want to look at and something you would want to go back to because it looks good overall.

I also would appreciate if you guys can shoot me an email(address on site) on what I should change to make it better; add a brand or change a rating, I want this site something to reference and something you'll all like. I'm 15 so gimme slack with the emails. I hope you enjoy, it took a while.

Oh and the site:http://capacitorlist.com (hopefully that pretty descriptive)

    Info for the server Nerds:
    Ubuntu 16.04(Apache)
    IBM M3 x3650(virtualized esxi)
48GB of ram (using 12 for the site)(I know its overkill)
2 of 8 cores of Xeons
    Enterprise Minuteman UPS
    Dell Switch and Custom Router

    Nichicon, not Nichecon.

Nippon Chemi-Con bought Marcon in 1995.

^This, I also think 2.0 out of 10 for Samxon is a bit harsh, aside from the known problematic GF series they are decent second tier caps.

Yes. One bad series doesnt' define a brand. Hell, Nichicon (for a few years) and Nippon Chemicon both have TWO bad series, and they're considered top tier caps. Samxons I'd say are at least a 7 from my experience.

Samxon (Man Yue, Samxon is their electrolytic brand) has two bad series. GF and GK. I think 3.0 is a bit harsh for LTEC as well. They are definitely not great capacitors and even struggle to be good capacitors but they are afar from the worst IMO. LTEC and OST I'd rate 6.0 and Teapo 5.0. That's just my opinion, of course. I'm not sure why Panasonic gets 9.5 and Nichicon, Nippon Chemi-con, and Rubycon 10... I'd rather give Panasonic 10.5! In earnest, a topic like this is a bit subjective since no one person's experience is the same.

I guess so, I'm keeping it kinda harsh so it's more differentiated, and I really don't have much experience with Samexon caps so I'll probably change it so it is a higher rating like to a 5 since I do think it was pretty harsh of me. Thanks

I do have to agree, with seeing no bad things about a panasonic I'll bump it it .5 of a point to 10. Although that really is true; it is hard to set an opinion on something as varying as a capacitor, with different series and all, I'm really aiming for something just to get an idea of what the quality is so when someone sees a psu or mobo they can have an idea if it is any good at all. Thanks for the advice!

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

                Title:
Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

                Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.

                Procedure performed:
                - Removed backplate
                - Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
                - Reapplied thermal compound
                - Reassembled card

                Observed behavior after reassembly:
                - GPU powers on and operates normally under...

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
                by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
                Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

                RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
                by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

                Explanation of capacitor rating
                by Adenitz
                Hello,
I'm reading an article about the "capacitor plaque" in early 2000s and I have found one sentence I cannot understand.
The normal lifespan of a non-solid electrolytic capacitor of consumer quality, typically rated at 2000 h/85 °C and operating at 40 °C, is roughly 6 years. It can be more than 10 years for a 1000 h/105 °C capacitor operating at 40 °C.

What this 2000h or 1000h means? Why 1000h capacitors have longer life span?

Motor run capacitor physical size vs voltage rating & measurements?
                by Per Hansson
                (TL;DR skip the first paragraph)
I encountered my first dead motor run capacitor at a customer this week.
For some fields I guess it is a very common occurrence but the usual way for industrial machines here is to use 3-phase motors.
(Unless a servo motor makes more sense that is).
But for some reason this 3-phase machine uses a 1-phase motor for its liquid coolant pump.
The pump would run but sometimes trip the 10A breaker.
I monitored it starting and stopping for over an hour until it finally stopped in a specific spot between its windings:
                Then it could...
