    OST = I.q?

    I found these caps on the input of a K7S5A rev3.1 board:



    The flip side shows these are OST RLP series capacitors. OST is often bad, but not nearly as bad as IQ. For some reason I can't fathom, they've revealed on this label that I.Q is an OST product!

    My guess is they improved their caps (somewhat) and changed their name to OST at that point.

      Hello everyone! :-)

      An acquaintance of mine works as a DJ in his spare time and brought me a defective QSC active loudspeaker (Model: K10.2) for repair.

      Error description: The device could not be switched on (after he lent it to another DJ).

      A visual inspection revealed an obviously blown fuse (F41) and a cracked thermistor (R41) on the mains filter board. A closer look at the amplifier board revealed two defective power MOSFETS (Q13, Q14) and other defective components on the +12VLOW rail.

      Monster Abra A5 V16.7 SRKMA burned

      The south bridge (SRKMA) on my Monster Abra A5 V16.7 was burnt, causing a 1.8V short circuit to the chip. I installed a chip I bought from Aliexpress, assuming it was brand new, and the 1.8V output improved, but when I pressed the power button, it drew 0.03A and didn't start. I can measure 3.3V, 1.8V, and 1.05V on the chip. The BIOS has 3.3V on pins 1, 2, 3, and 8. When I pressed the power button, it drops to 3.3V. I get EC_RSMRST voltage from the IT5570E, but I don't have SLP_S4 and SLP-S5 voltages. I've written the bios files I could find, but I can't find anything. Is the integrated circuit...

      I have brought you a mistery item
      This laptop have come with some strange faults.
      1. CMOS battery was flat 0v
      Symptoms:
      - After using the laptop and shutting down and removing the AC adapter for at least 1 minute, the laptop never turned on until EC reset (either shorting RTC or removing battery and long pressing power button)
      Amp drawing was stuck at 0.005 milliamps.
      - Laptop cannot really be turned off because it autostarts about 5 sec-1 or 2 minute. (lid sw is not the problem)

      ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 AMD NM-E501 dead

      I have an E14 Gen 4 AMD that shows no signs of life.
      When connected to the charger the board initially drew 30 mA at 10 V.
      The thermocamera showed a hot spot at one edge of the PD controller. I therefore replaced the PD controller, after which the board drew 5 mA at 20 V.
      Further investigation revealed that the power switch UT5 (NX20P5090UK) was not activated. The EN# signal is missing. This is supposed to be generated by the PD controller.

      From then on I started using the battery instead of the charger.
      With the battery the main power rail V9B+ is present...
