    Low esr?

What exactly is the signifigance of using low esr caps? I have the ones between my dual cpus on the vp6 replaced with large panasonic's. They only say "extreamly low impedance". Is this safe for them? I figured low impedence goes with low esr.. But I might be wrong on that..

    Thanks,
    Cody

Never mind.. I called Panasonic and they said my caps are will work well and not harm anything in a low esr inviroment.

Polk PSW125 capacitors choices for a beginner.
      by Eh546
I was looking to repair my Polk PSW125 subwoofer plate amplifier, i've checked around the web and it seems to be a capacitors problem.

Took apart the amp, and made a visual inspection, everything's seems fine, fuse ect no burn marks, but i noticed 3 caps that were a little bit bulged. One 400v 150uf, one 50v 47uf, and two 63v 47uf.

I noted each caps voltages and uf anyways, and made a list on digikey. Some recommended Nichicon and Panasonics ones (FR and FM) serie. So I tried to stay with the Panasonics FM-A serie.

I would like to know if the caps i selected...

Lenovo ThinkPad OCP and impedance of Intel i7-10750H
      by bajdik
Hello, I would like to know if reading of 1.6 OHM on i7-10750H is too low or not.
I can not compare - no other board with 10th GEN for measurement.

Thank you very much for your help.

      "Low Impedance" vs "Low ESR"
      by clearchris
From my research, "low impedance" are pretty much the same as "low esr" caps except the "low esr" caps come in a smaller package. Am I reading this wrong? "Low impedance" caps seem to be much more commonly available (and cheaper) than "low esr" caps. I'm not afraid to lean over some caps if I have to make them fit because of size.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a pretty large cap order (for me) and want to make sure I'm not buying the wrong stuff. I'm stuck in the house, busy working through my electronics projects, and it would...

Acer Aspire 4830t, help with diagnostics PLTRST impedance
      by Yousuf
      Hi All,
I have interesting diagnostics experience, with Aspire 4830t motherboard. All the voltage rails are up (except for integrated graphics, which I think happens later in the boot sequence). The PCH_PWROK and DRAM_PWROK are asserted. I can also see PCH reading the BIOS and fetching (and executing) the ME_Firmware. But I don't see PLT_RST# being deasserted (I always see it driven logic low). All conditions seems to be correct for platform reset but that signal is never driven high. Out of desperation, I changed the CPU and still see the same issue.

      Out of curiosity, I...

Switched speaker impedance selector w/ Yamaha HTR-5740 RX-V450 powered on!! Problem?
      by JimBanville
So I didn't realize there was a tiny written warning on the speaker impedance switch on the back that said moving the switch with the power on "may damage the unit". I actually switched it multiple times, listening for any possible audible changes. It wasn't until later I saw the tiny warning. I haven't noticed any issues though. Can someone please look at the schematic and tell me what damage I may have caused? Thanks!!...
