I have two sticks of 256mb PC-150, one from MCI/MDT and the other from Corsair.
The system only registers 384MB's upon system boot. That and the system reports 128mb sticks installed in banks 0/1/3.
I already replaced the capacitors with high quality Panasonic caps.. So that isn't the issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help..

Never mind.. I called Panasonic and they said my caps are will work well and not harm anything in a low esr inviroment.

My caps esr levels: Tell me if there considered low..?
The caps I have in use right now for my cpus are as follows:
10 volts
1500uf
Impedance 100khz @ +20C Ohms max: 0.018
Ripple current 1000khz @ +20C: 2470 mA
The impedance/ohms are in the same collum as the same number..
The series says "Low Impedance: 40-70% lower than FC series"
Are the resistance levels on that (0.018) low enough?
Thanks,
CP

Low esr?
What exactly is the signifigance of using low esr caps? I have the ones between my dual cpus on the vp6 replaced with large panasonic's. They only say "extreamly low impedance". Is this safe for them? I figured low impedence goes with low esr.. But I might be wrong on that..
Thanks,
Cody

Well I already clipped the stupid things when I put them in.. Well the one I did anyway. I didn't get the other in the mail.. But when I do I will follow your advice. Now that leaves me with that one cap that needs to be replaced due to size and being clipped..
Thanks,
Cody

800F Not hot enough..
Well I just replaced some caps on my vp6.. I came into 2 holes that wouldn't melt and give. I had to press the damn soldering tip from my hakko FP-102 for a while until it would melt, even with fresh solder.. I have no idea what kind of solder abit is using but its not light. I finally got them cleared and new caps in.. But the back of the board is somewhat "burned" from the excessive heat. To top it off, the two panasonic caps between the AGP and PCI are too big. I am hoping tomcat will sell me those two. I couldn't plug my video card in, but the system did turn on without blowing up...

Tell me about it.. I already looked at that desoldering tool. Maybe I will get it some other time though. Nice and expensive all by itself. Too bad the stupid thing didn't come with a TIP though. Heh, the station costs $202.00, and doesn't include even a simple TIP.
Oh well...

VP6 Diagram?
Can I get a diagram that shows all 23 caps that are to be replaced on an Abit Vp6? I would appreciate this. As I need one, couldn't tell, but it didn't seem that you can tell what kind of cap it is by looking at it and what not...
Thanks,

Yeah I figured that out. I figured that just means the residue left from the "Rosin" wouldn't complete a circuit that shouldn't be completed...

60/40 Rosin Core Solder
I would like to buy some 60/40 Rosin Core Solder, but am not sure what to look for. I see most of this stuff says non-conductive.. Which is odd to me. Shouldn't it be conductive? The stuff I am looking at does say its non-corrosive.

Also I was looking at this for a DeSoldering Braid:

The site says it can heat up to over 2,000F.. The electric model only goes up to about 900F.....

Butain Soldering guns?
I found this Butain based soldering gun and was wondering if it would be good for small component work, such as capacitor replacement...
Product:

Sorry for the long url...
Also would I just be better off buying an inexpensive hako electric soldering gun?

Looking for replacements now..
Thanks anyway,

Panasonic Vs. Nichicon...
Panasonic:
6.3V 1000UF= Impedance 0.038, Ripple Current 1290, Life 4000 hours, Low impedence, FM series...
16V 1500UF= Impedance 0.018, Ripple Current 2600, Life 5000 hours, Low impedence, FM series...
OR
Nichicon:
6.3V 1000UF= Impedence 0.087, Ripple Current 840, Life 6000 hours, Lead Free, UHE series...
16V 1500UF= Impedence 0.031, Ripple Current 1910, Life 7000 hours, Lead Free, UHE series..
I wish to know what the higher quality capacitor is.. I don't care about the life span really. Just which ones will be a better...

Jacxcon Caps???
On my Abit-Vp6 motherboard, there are black caps with golden writing that state something like "Jacxcon" or "Acxcon".... Does anyone know anything about these???
Thanks,

Well I replaced my linksys NIC with a NetGear NIC, I still get problems when going over 60 network connections. I think microsoft needs to fix these issues in the next service pack.
For example I now get this (Looks like its still the NIC, seeming how the message is pretty much the same):
