    Sck 054

    SCK 054

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know the value of this type of bead like capacitor. I have been told that it is a Thermistor cap but no thermistor that I can find looks like this one. This is the size of about 10mm across and is coloured green and looks like the blue type bead capacitors that are on most boards. This one had blown and I took it out of the power supply board and it had also blown the fuse. The board said RT1 just where I took this cap out of does this give some clue to the value of this SCK 054 type cap. Many Thanks for reply in advance Chris

That's a thermistor actually. Even the markings indicated that. Tracing the circuit around it would reveal its actual purpose. Most thermistors will have the appearance of a large ceramic disc capacitor, and is usually in series with the mains power line (always on the Live side) often just before the filter circuits. Also do beware of another type of component called varistors which also can look like a large ceramic disc capacitor, and is usually connected in parallel on the mains power lines (between Live and Neutral)...

Yes, it's a thermistor, used for limiting inrush current in the PSU when the primary capacitors first charge up.

SCK 054 is a common model I see in power supplies. You can buy them on eBay or electronics suppliers like Farnell, Digikey, Mouser etc.

Can not find Model/Value of Thermistor.
          by nmbb
          Machine: Autoclave.
          Brand/Model: SANYO MLS-3780
Manual: (Sorry search option not working on this PDF)

Hello guys, this autoclave running with 2 thermistors already connected TH1 and TH3(on CN1,CN2 sockets). One for the water temperture and second one for chamber temperature. But there is another emtpy socket for optional third thermistor CN2 wich is for TH2 for object temperature. I wanna add the third thermistor TH2 to CN2 socket. But i can't figure what model/brand/value i need to use. In manual document, there is no info about TH1 and TH3 model number...

Samsung TV LA46B650T1F Blown Fuse and Thermistor
          by robm1
Picked up a non working LA46B650T1F. Opened the back up, and the fuse near the AC in (FS801S which looks to by a 6.3A slow blow ceramic) was blown.

Further visual inspection showed the thermistor at NT811S (marked SCK 084) was cracked at the top. So i am assuming something else is shorted to cause the fuse to blow and the thermistor to crack? Am i on the right track?

What else can i test - the power supply board is a bn44-00265a, and can't see any specific threads on this board, nor find the schematic. I see some similar samsung boards, there are suggestions to test components...

HP X360 convertible battery blown fuse error, not charging
          by drscoot
          HP Modelnumber: 14-dh0061nb
This laptop had a shorted cap on a Vcore section. After replacement is works again. But there is still a battery issue.
The battery is HT03XL and with the built-in component test from HP, in the Power section, I get an error: Logic State: Calibration required (20), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
I have another same battery, also with error: Logic State: Very Weak (70), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
And a third battery TF03XL (looks identical) with error: Logic State: OK (0), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
All these 3 batteries are charging...

Blown fuses on Gigabyte GTX 980TI 6GB
          by MrzPdlch
          Hey everyone,

I just went ahead and unscrewed a faulty GTX 980 TI from Gigabyte. What I found beneath the cooler was, as it seems, a common issue of that card. Two blown fuses on the bottom right corner of the card next to a MOSFET.
Now my question would be if there is any schematics of that card available to figure out which are the blown components so I can try and replace them together with the mosfet if needed.

Find some pictures of the actual GPU together with a picture of how it should look like.
I also wonder whther it might be a problem that there...

Magic chef oven - thermistor ref voltage issue
          by Use2bavolvo
I am having an issue with my wall oven temperature control is ~180f out of spec. The thermistor is measuring correctly but I noticed the ref voltage appears to be off. With the thermistor wires attached it's reading ~3.4vdc with the thermistor disconnected it's around I9.8vdc. my understanding is the temp is read off the resistance from the thermistor which leads me to believe the issue is with the ref voltage.

Another observation is the temp setting and readout at lower temps is way off meaning the oven thinks room temp is 300f and bake relay doesn't engage unless temp setting...
