Does ceramic capacitors has any polarity? Why other caps have polarity?

Polarity has to do with the chemistry of caps that are polarized. One caveat on that replcement. If the part is on the input side of the power supply and one lead of the part connects to chassis, that requires a special safety agency approved part. It's called a Y capacitor, and it is rated for AC voltage.PeteS in CA
