My capacitors aren't bulging

Hi all

I have the same problem as this guy (my power blinks 6 or 7 times)

I have opened the TV but I can see no bulges in any of the capacitors. Any suggestions?

Had a few of these some thing to Try is unplugging it and push the power button for like 20 seconds then leave it unplugged for like 2 or 3 days and plug it in and try it. worth a try I had 2 sent to me for repair first one sat on the floor unplugged for 4 days till the weekend and it just worked after being unplugged for 4 days second one I did this and that worked on it. good luck.

Even if they are not bulging, they can still have lost capacitance. To be sure you would need to measure them or just replace them.

Sometimes the fault is not capacitors, but a loose wire at the end of the fluorescent tubes in the panel, or a lamp itself faulty (they can degrade or die of old age).

You can check if the lamps are faulty or wires loose only by opening the panel. But be careful, those lamps run at high voltage (700-1500 volts).

Alternatively, you can buy some fluorescent lightbulbs, open them up and connect the wires from those tubes of the bulbs to the connector where the panel lamps are connected. If the panel will run and bulb lights up, you know it's that pair of lamps faulty in some way.
But this is a bit of a "for professionals" method, it's a bit dangerous to use if you never did it before.

That is just a temporary fix. I would investigate further to find the problem. That is just a symptom of something wrong!

Not saying its a fix. Just I live in a small town and we have a lot of power outages and every time we have a power outage I get the same 7 TVs dropped off at the TV store. I do what I said and they work perfectly till the next power outage be it 2 weeks or 5 months. I think it has something to do with the bad power when it comes back on? or from the power board losing power completely? Maybe the boards cool down and that is why they start up when I let them sit? and only one has to be left unplugged for 3 or 4 days for most of them I come back on my coffee break 2 hours later and they start up. I just told him this as it might work for him to just get it going. As I learn more I will probably end up taking them apart and repairing them as for now I am sticking with my dumpster diving stuff its free LOL.

Just I live in a small town and we have a lot of power outages and every time we have a power outage I get the same 7 TVs dropped off at the TV store.

I guess we need more power outages here.
