I don't see the caps in AB763 pics, and it's 6V6 all the way to quad 6L6 though. Nor in any schematics- that cap does not go across the control grid, after the stopper resistor unless you want a Tesla coil.
So I say it's somebody's mod, and it would kill the high end. There should be two of them and they need to be the same, replaced in a pair.
The AA769 has them as 2,000pF. At the control grid even 100V part is OK. I would use a low distortion dielectric C0G or PP.
If the socket arced and carbon tracked, I would replace it with a ceramic one. Maybe add (Marshall) protection diodes if it's heavy overdrive on the output stage to protect it.
Upsize the 470Ω screen resistors too to a few watts. Looks alike somebody played metal on it lol.

Just adding this information, I found
I did find pictures with those caps installed (maybe AA1069 model or were added later?) and I found this site that has many mods where they remove those disc caps ( All the Differences Between the AB763 Vibroverb and AA1069 Bandmaster Reverb) AB763 Mods (robrobinette.com)
Seems to be endless modifications as usualLast edited by R_J; 08-08-2024, 10:10 PM.Comment

thank you everybody for these response, and yes i think it was a mod...since i was not finding anything on diagram also. socket v8 6v6gt tube is the bad one.all 2 resistors 740 and 1.5k are burn, this cap is burn, and did have a couple wires to change ,and tube is ok,so hope to replace them and work again, thank you for your helpComment

The 1,500Ω grid-stop resistors should never burn up! If they did then something is very wrong.
The 470Ω screen resistors will burn if the amp is overdriven too hard. People upsize to 3W parts.
If someone was in there doing mods, check if they are done right or not. That cap is only on two models and none with 6V6, it's not necessary.
Bad mods can make the amp malfunction and it's a mess. People try copying other circuits from other models and if you don't know what you are doing, it's a mess.
Fender was very good giving layout drawings. I would check the chassis you have close for other changes, if a guy did bad mods then I pull that garbage out.Comment

by welpI have a PlayStation 5 CH-1215A with a Disk drive not reading disks anymore. (accepting and ejecting very slowly.)
Knowing the PS5 has a married daughter board for the disk drive I made sure to use that and replace the rest of the disk tray as it* was owned previously by an indoor smoker.
Once the job was complete and put back everything together, I tried to insert a disk with no luck at all...
So, I checked voltage going from the ps5 to the daughter board and am only getting the 5V rail.
With that knowledge I preceded to check all the fuses for the 12v rail on the main... -

			by DynaxSCHi,
I have an really very weired issue with ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING.
Some NVME (PCIe) SSD's are not working correctly in the second M.2 socket. An example of it is the SAMSUNG SSD980 1TB NVME SSD.
Some other NVME (I have only smaller ones) disk do work without any problem, also SAMSUNG disks, eg an MZVPV128HDGM-0000.
The behaviour is also really very strange, i.e.:- The disk shows always up in BIOS - so it is recognized, so far so good
 - POST-ing with this disk with fresh Windows 24H2 installation (done in the M.2_1 socket) in the M.2_2 socket

by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -

			by the_remHello guys,
I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.
I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow... - Loading...
