    Which cap brand is this?

    Extracted from a ~1999 440BX mobo:

    I suspect they're not Panasonics .

What would make you think they are Panasonic, the M?

M is standard code for the tolerance, +/- 20%. The M in a square with rounded corners on Panasonic capacitors is short for Matsushita, the previous name of Panasonic.

Certainly not Panasonic, even the vent is wrong. Could be one of the many OEM capacitors that came and went (setup for a short period then folded up). One good example I've came across would be Rifeking...

That "(M)" logo may be actually the manufacturer logo (since its labelled prominently), rather than tolerance code (as everyone in the capacitor business knows that high capacity electrolytics are mostly +/-20% tolerance, pretty standard knowledge)...

Some unknown forgotten crap cap maker then I guess. The smaller caps were also crappy D.S. ones, it's amazing the mobo still worked OK after 14 years (although a couple 'M's were starting to bulge).

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
          by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

BEST 505 Vs Mechanic Brand Reballing Balls with Lead
          by Stanley1843
          Hello,
has anyone use these Brands of solder balls? The brand BEST writes on the label of the jar the specs of the solder balls instead of the Mechanic brand. I beleive that BEST brand must be more professional (in labeling at least) but I have never try one of them so I would like your opinion. By the way I hardly can I find the Mechanic brand in aliexpress (the only where I found was lead free solder balls) and on ebay these that I found are approximately15USD per jar. If you know any other trusted brand of solder balls please tell me.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
          by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...
