Vizio vp322 stopped working again after caps replaced

    Hey all,

I bought my vizio vp322 plasma screen tv in 2008. Some time in 2010 or 2011 it started clicking on and off repeatedly when i tried to turn it on. I found out it was bad capacitors, and a buddy who is better than me with soldering replaced all suspected caps using a kit i found on amazon.com. After we replaced them, the tv worked like new.

About 3 weeks ago, I remember we had put our air conditioner in the window, and since it was nice and cool in my room i wanted to play some video games. i tried turning on the TV and the vizio logo at the bottom of the TV turned white like it should, but i hear 2 clicks, and no picture ever shows up.(when it worked correctly the logo would turn white and i would hear one click, then the TV turns on and shows a picture.) After being turned on it will take about a minute before i can shut it off.

I am by no means an expert on troubleshooting electronics, but my buddy who is majoring in EE said it could be a relay.

    So my questions are:

    1. Has anyone else run into this issue with a vizio VP322?

    2. Can anyone provide any input on whether or not it is a relay on the power board?

    3. If it is, can someone help me with identifying the relay and where i could potentially buy one?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Caps from Amazon are likely sketchy at best. What brand were they, did you replace all caps of the same series and brand that were bulging, or just the ones that showed signs of failure?

Pictures would help. Use the upload pictures option, high res is good. 2k X 2k max.

Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.

This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot...

      Repair Success! Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP
      by valvashon
Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

      Vizio M65-C1
      by mrtek
      Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

      9V relay temperature 40C
      by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...
