    VP930b Cap replacing

i am literally a newbie and never touch a solder gun in my whole life before but now im going to try to fix an old monitor of mine by following the steps from this thread here
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5537

i am able to identify what i will need to get
    1000uf 16v EEU-FC1C102
    470 uf 35v EEU-FC1V471B-ND
    220 uf 25v EEU-FC1E221

but i have no idea which i should get for the
    100uf 400v capacitors
since im practically half a world away from America so i will be using a local website here in my country.
i dont know which one i should go for
im afraid if i put them in , it will screw up the PSU

Panasonic? since i cant find the FC series for it

    Re: VP930b Cap replacing

Hi - You should not need to replace the BIG cap unless it is obviously swollen leaking or damaged.
You should be using a soldering iron 40 - 60 watt with a fairly fine point or chisel tip for changing capacitors.
You will also need either a desolder pump or some soldermop (braid) to remove old/excess solder.
    You also need some flux.
Solder wire - get leaded if possible 60/40 with flux in it.

Practice soldering on an old electronics item if you have one or even just on pieces of wire.

There are number of videos on youtube or even links on this site - type soldering
    into the search.

thank you for the info :U
the big cap is now bulging tho
ill research more on the soldering iron tho eventho i got one cheaply
      and a desolder pump too

flux however eludes me, leaded solder wire 60/40 flux, i will have to find that too

        Re: VP930b Cap replacing

Sorry Missed your reply - Are you sure the Big cap is bulged - sometimes its just the plastic plate at the end - if you can press it in easily it is ok. If you can I would go for this one http://malaysia.rs-online.com/web/p/...itors/6997562/ much better ripple.
Solder- often expensive to buy on line because of the weight/postage. You wont need a lot try to get it locally but if not this should do

          Re: VP930b Cap replacing

if only i had read your message earlier,
i might had saved some money

I had fix the VP930b replacing all the badcaps with panasonics except for the big cap which i uses rubycon.
i bought the solder lead 20 bucks more expensive than the one you suggested, if only i had read it earlier i would had just stick to yours

and since there's an RS in my country, the transport fee is free and often arrive the next working day.

none the less the VP930b is fix, so is my other monitor the VX1932wm
which both i am currently using atm. i'd replaced the caps wit hthe same uF but some with higher voltage from like 10v to 16v or 25v to 35v. their color calibration are bad since they have being with me for more than 4 years.

i am now going to tackle the t240 samsung which i will open a new thread soon since i cant identify the caps

thank you for your information and support.

            Re: VP930b Cap replacing

On a personal note, I've recapped a few VP930b's with success, except for one I might have to go over. I've noticed a few Viewsonics that have had the plague bad.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2

This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

              Would this be safe?
              by SluggerB
I am trying to fix a broken plasma TV by replacing a large cap on the power board. It is a 1900uf 220v cap and I could only find one place that sells them. It was listed as through hole, so I bought it. It showed up today, but instead of through hole, it has spade connectors.

Would it be safe to get some heavy duty wire (like lamp cord wire), connect that to spade connectors, connect them to the spades on the cap, and run the other ends of the wire 2-3 inches to the holes and then through the holes and solder them in place? I actually did it already and put it together but...

New wire for my RDE3340 Whirlpool electric range
              by wnlewis
OK. I got the rocker switch figured out thanks to the good advice on this forum.

Now I need to figure out the correct wire to go to the switch from the broiler element and from the oven element.

This is a Whirlpool RDE3340 electric range.

The common wire on the switch appears to have a high temperature insulating material. I am guessing that both the wire to the broiler and the wire to the oven elements also need relatively high temperature insulation. What do I need to look for? The broiler is rated at about 2400 watts.

              Where may I find parts...

              Gigabyte GA-H110-D3A schematic/boardview needed
              by re-atari
              Hello all,

Does anybody have a schematic and/or boardview of the Gigabyte GA-H110-D3A mainboard available? It would really help me out big time...

This board was donated to me in a known non-working state. In its previous life it was used as a mining board, so I suspected bad caps and a relatively easy fix. My intention is to use the fixed board as a testbed for a Truenas or Unraid build. The previous owner told me that the mainboard started to act 'weirdly' after replacing the originally installed Celeron for an i5-6400, varying from starting up irregularly to not at...
