Issues with a Magnavox/Phillips 42mf531d/37 Power supply board.

As the title says, im havign some issues with a lcd power supply for a /Phillips 42mf531d/37 Lcd Tv. The tv simply doesn't turn on, its power supply unit would make a chirp each time I plugged the tv in so I assumed that meant that the power supply was damaged, so I unplugged the TV, removed the power supply and inspected it, I found three lumpy CapXon capacitors, so I assumed that those capacitors were the issue, so I ordered replacements for the 3 lumpy, leaking capacitors and replaced them with capacitors of the exact same specifications (1500 uf and 35 volts.) but different brand (Nichicon I believe). Once I soldered the new capacitors on I plugged in the power supply and once again I got chirping from the power supply.

My question is, what else can I do to fix this power supply? I checked the rest of the Capxon capacitors and found no visible sign of them going bad or leaking. So I'm stumped as to what can be the issue with this power supply unit. Finding a replacement power supply for this TV is also out of the question as they too expensive to make the TV worth repairing. Unless I can find one for less than 50 bucks, which I haven't as of yet.

A failed CapXon doesn´t have to be bulged and/or leaking. They are common to dry up and that can only be measured with appropiate testing equipment.

Also, what series of Nichicon capacitors did you exchange the three of these with?

I´m not an expert in fault tracing power supplys but with my experience so far ALL CapXon's should be replaced before even doing anyting else. It doesn´t cost a lot and afterwards you can rule out bad capacitors.

Please post focused, clear images of the circuit board (not inline) and I´m sure you will get some more help from many of this forum's incredible competent members.

Okay, thank you for your input, Ill consider replacing the rest of the capacitors if I can find all the replacement capacitors at a good enough price.

I am unsure what series the Nichicon capacitors are. The place I bought it from said they were 1500uF 35V New Radial, info on the cap itself says is 105 °C H0912 and below that it says PM(M)

Ive sent a few images of my power board as requested.

        The PM-series is absolutely adequate.

Please post the images here in this forum, in this thread using the "Manage Attachments" option.

Hmm ... Where did you get those new caps from? A reliable dealer or perhaps ebay...? The images are not perfectly focused but I think they look a bit suspicious .... For example, the plastic sleeve coating isn´t identical between them, which might be a sign of fakes.

Yeah it was an ebay seller, but he had no negative feedback so I felt it was safe to buy from him. I also just noticed an area of the board that is darker that the rest and surround two components which I believe are diodes.
I sent an image with a red circle around the suspicious area.

Are the components in the encircled area damaged?
Are those components in the encircled area diodes? Can the be replaced in the same manner as capacitors?

If you search this site for

              Phillips chirp

you will find other people have had problems with shorted out diodes.

Thank you for your help, I'll grab my multimeter and run some tests, then purchase some diodes to replace the damaged ones if the tests reveal they are damaged.

For others reading this in the future, this is why we always ask for clear focused pictures of your board. It is clear in the first picture that the diodes are under duress and something to be investigated.

Using a stock picture and saying the board is exactly the same is likely asking a brain surgeon to operate on you using someone else's xray.

When people insist their board is identical to a stock picture or someone else's, I usually hit close window and move onto the next thread because they clearly don't understand how difficult remote troubleshooting is.

Read here as well for some tips on this TV:

                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20010

                    Shorted diodes were found there.
