    CapXon capacitors quality

Several current power supply units are coming with CapXon capacitors, which have been meaning of explosions not long time ago, and I wonder how good the quality of them lately and if there is any relationship between the problems with this brand electrolytic capacitors with solid capacitors of the same, that I noticed in some power supply units manufactured by FSP.

(Sorry for bad english, GoogleTranslate helped me)

Capxom are the new Fuhjyyus in my opinion. Very bad quality.

They are also used in CWT-based Antecs alongside Fuhjyyu caps.

My True 430 1.0 purchased in October, 2003 has mostly Capxon.

        CapXon capacitors quality
        Plain and simple: there's none.

I regularly get 2-3 year old Fortron Source / FSP based PSUs (especially be-quiet (with their nonexistant airflow) and Zalman) with most of their crapxons completely blown. The non-standard (not in datasheets) 8mm secondary side ones are a total painus in the anus to find good replacements for.. no one seems to make them! And there isn't enough room for more than one or two 10mm caps in the whole bunch..

In LCD monitors, they die even faster..

Better than Fuhjjyu, worse than Teapo, Ltec, OST etc.

CapXon primaries will probably be ok though. I'd trust Teapo primaries more.

Thanks for the replies, but on the polymer-based capacitors (which I stupidly called as solid capacitors) manufactured by CapXon, they also have problems? A polymer-based capacitor can explode?

              Re: CapXon capacitors quality

Polymer CapXons will probably find some way to fail. Polymer caps have similar lifespans to electrolytics (2000-7000 hours typ); but the difference is polymer caps will simply fail with no signs, whereas electrolytics usually bulge.

                There's a reason why they're called CrapXon...
