Need help identifying a bad cap on forklift board

Hello. I am in desperate need of help. I am looking for a Panasonic SMD capacitor.

The one I am looking for has distinct marking on the top of the cap: a 470 at the top, J FK in the middle, and 05PW at the bottom of the cap with a black square to the left of these markings.

This board came out of a Hyster electric forklift. A coworker plugged it into the wrong voltage and fried two of these caps. I have attached two pictures, but they are low quality pictures. I am attempting to take higher quality pictures.

I have found similar caps but nothing identical to the markings of the ones we have. If anyone can provide the OEM part number or the specs it would be greatly appreciated!

Panasonic capacitors have that small NEGATIVE line:

    http://capacitor.web.fc2.com/solidca...#zzz_panasonic

There is a FK series of capacitors from Panasonic.

    Here's the inventory: http://industrial.panasonic.com/www-...BA0000_WW.html
Here's the FK series page: http://industrial.panasonic.com/www-...+ABA0088+4++WW
    And here's the datasheet:

    J = 63v , so it's: 470uF 63v smd capacitor (not polymer, just electrolytic looking like a polymer cap)

    470 16x16.5 J16 1410mA ripple 0.082 ohm impedance EEEFK1J471AM

There's plenty of polimer or regular smd electrolytic caps that can do more than 1410mA ripple and less than 0.082 ohm impedance.

If you need suggestions say so and we'll help. Replace all three in that area while you're at it.

Thank you very much! you are a lifesaver. This is all greek to me, but i am giving this information to our electrician to repair the board. There is a total of 4 smd caps, two are the one i described and two have a 470 V FK 06EJ for the markings. Per your suggestion, we should replace these too correct? And i would really appreciate any help on any suggestions for other caps to use in place of this.

Re: Need help identifying a bad cap on forklift board

In your second picture, you have 3 capacitors. They're at various degrees of quality - if one is fallen, it could be the others are perfectly good or could be also on their way out.

They're cheap enough (usually under 2$ each) that it's not worth taking your chances and have them die after a few months, making you waste time again... you should just replace all three.

I only see three, if you have four there, by all means, you should replace all four.

It looks to me all three are 470uF, but I'm not sure (due to the flash from the camera) that they're all J (63v), but the datasheet lists several letters which tell you the maximum rated voltage:

        Rated Voltage Mark (mm)
        j 6.3 V A 10 V C 16 V E 25 V V 35 V H 50 V J 63 V K 80 V 2A 100 V

If you can't tell the maximum voltage by letter, you can usually determine it by measuring the sizes of their bottoms and the height of the actual capacitor - the proportions are usually different depending on voltage and they're all listed in the datasheet.

When selecting replacement capacitors, you don't have to go strictly with that same manufacturer and series - in your case Panasonic FK. You can select other brands but you must pay attention to the "footprint" (so you will be able to solder it in the place of the old ones) and then make sure they're just as good as the old ones.
You need new capacitors to have at least as much ripple as the old ones (1410 mA) in your case, and at most 0.082 ohm impedance.

Good stores to buy capacitors from are Digikey or Mouser if you're in US, Farnell if you're in UK or some other place... in the worst case there's eBay but there are fakes out there so if you don't know how to tell good from bad, it's not recommended.

        Here's some that would work...

Digikey actually has the exact model but not in bulk - they'll add 7$ to the order to cut the number of capacitors you want from a tape of capacitors:

        http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...85CT-ND/396344

Farnell also has this exact capacitor:

        http://uk.farnell.com/panasonic/eevf...63v/dp/9696067

(there's actually quite few capacitors and alternatives for this, as boards don't use very often 63v capacitors. If it was up to 35v, you would have a lot of choices.)

Yes, Farnell is the only one who carries "FK" series to my knowledge.

          EEEFK - SMD
          EEUFK - Through Hole

Re: Need help identifying a bad cap on forklift board

Originally there was four on the board, two different ratings. Our electrician pulled out the two that blew, which were the 470 J FK 05PW. They are in sets of two (I apologize if i get terminology wrong, this is not my area of expertise). The smaller one of the two, as seen at the top of my second picture, is a 470 V FK 06EJ. The very top cap and the very bottom cap are the same, the one in the center is the same as the one we pulled, which resides just out of frame of the picture, above the top cap.

If i understand this correctly, the second cap (470 V FK 05PW) is also a 470uf, V=35, is in the same FK series, and has a lot number of 06EJ. With that being said, the cap i am looking for would be EEEFK1V471AQ, since its the only cap in the FK series with a 35V rating and 470uf capacitance. Is this correct?

Thank you for the references of where to buy. I believe we will be purchasing through Mouser, as this was my bosses suggestion on where to look. Again, thank you for your help, you have been a lifesaver.

They also call their SMD "V" type in some places.
So, EEV-FK1V471Q is also a valid number.
              [as so]: http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...64TR-ND/396276
              [or]: http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...2CT-ND/1879893
              .
              And the 63v: http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...85CT-ND/396344
              .
              .
              Here's the voltage codes.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Assistance with identifying resistor value on 820-02918 A2992 board?
                by ugamazing
Working on a 2023 M3 A2992 unit with 820-02918 board, and it uses a new USB-C power architecture, with rectangular controllers. I do not have a perfect-matching board, so have been repairing this one the old-fashioned way (slowly).

I managed to blow-away a single resistor that I can't find and can't determine the value of. It connects to ground, so I went ahead and stuffed it with a 100K resistor in case it's a simple pull-up. But, I'm now having issues with that side of the board, and am curious if it's possibly related to this resistor! I have no schematics and no board view, so...

                Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
