Abit Bh6 this time...This completes the cycle all 4 abit boards I have purchased over the past years have officially died from bad caps now. I have a few questions once again:
1. This board was 6 or 7 years old. (Question)So, what is the general lifespan of well manufactured caps? Is 6-7 years about right?
2. This system was working fine yesturday. My home lost power last night two or three times for about 30 seconds each time. When I finally powered the system back up afterwords it would reboot trying to load windows. That's when I pulled the side panel off and discovered the bad caps. (Question) can a power surge blow caps? I assume that kind of a surge would have damaged other components...The molex connectors aren't melted or burnt, and there are no other signs of damage, just coincedince?
Thanks for any info.
