2 capacitors missing on a geforce 8800 gt

    Hello!

I have a Point Of View 8800 GT 512 MB HDMI in which 2 capacitators are missing. I want you to tell me where I can buy them. I hope you can help me.

I took the photgraphs of the capacitator and the videocard:

    Thanks!

Sorry, I'm spanish and I don't speak english very well.

Those are regular radial-lead electrolytic caps. You can see the "legs" of the two caps are still on the board. The body of the cap has been pulled off the board. Those 2 caps are wrecked.

You need to get 2 470uf 16v caps and solder them in there to figure out if the video card works. You will need a soldering iron, some solder, pliers to remove the pins from the card, a needle to clear the coles after removing the 4 pins.

If you replace the 2 caps and the board works, you might want to consider replacing them all with good-quality low-ESR caps of the same make and series.

Nichicon HN from mouser, or Rubycon MCZ from badcaps.net will do fine.

Those are United Chemicon NP-CAP PSC series. You can buy an exact replacement here:

        http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=565-3234-ND

These are solid polymer caps, not wet electrolytic. Replace only with another solid polymer cap.

          Hi all.

First, thanks for all the fast replies. I really appreciate your help .

We haven't tested the videocard because it came from a dump and two capacitors are missing so we think it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the description and the instructions. In order to install the capacitors, we will do what you said.

Thanks for the link to buy the capacitors. We are from Spain and we can pay with PayPal.

          Thanks for the help!

If you are over there you might want to check RS.

http://es.rs-online.com/web/search/s...duct&R=7149082 is as close as you can get spec wise on RS.

It's a bit inferior to PSC as far as specs go...

                Hi all.

I wanted to buy the capacitors in RS but the shipment is too expensive. It costs for 2 capacitors + shipment 22 € (around 33 USD).

I will go to a shop of electronic components and I will ask for this capacitors. If I have any doubt, I will contact you.

                Your help is much appreciate.

                Thanks for all!

Re: 2 capacitors missing on a geforce 8800 gt

If you do go to a local electronics shop make sure they sell you good quality Low-ESR capacitors (which is what you need here)

Most small local shops sell only cheap general purpose capacitors which are completely unsuitable for this kind of situation.

If you use general purpose capacitors they will fail quickly and may cause more damage to the card.

If RS or Farnell are too expensive for shipping, you might be ok with eBay? There are some good sellers on there, I don't buy from them myself but some people here on the forum do and say they are good. It might be a better option for price, while still getting the good capacitors you need.

This is the one I've heard of: http://myworld.ebay.com/egekecu/ I think he's an OK seller (but better wait for someone else to confirm!)

Shipping rates to Spain seem pretty reasonable.

Just make sure you check any sellers with the guys on here, because most of them sell fakes or junk. Only a few sell the real deal.

egekecu is a reliable seller, in my experience. I generally avoid eBay for capacitors since I've found reliable US-based sources (badcaps.net, digikey, mouser). I have ordered from egekecu in the past, and still do on occasion when I can't find what I'm looking for in the US.

                      egekecu has been okay.
Like yyonline, I'll order there when I can't find what I need on this side of the pond.

I usually buy items from eBay.com. I tried to buy the capacitors from eBay before post this thread, but I didn't find them.

I think I will buy the capacitors from the seller you recommended. The price is very reasonable, is what I expected.

Hi, recently acquired a second-hand MSI Geforce RTX 3060 Ti Twin Fan 8G LHR graphics card. After spending two days trying everything and going crazy because my PC didn't detect it, and the fans weren't spinning, I couldn't figure out where the problem was. Yesterday, I found that some capacitors were missing, and some were broken. I imagine it might have been due to a fall or something like that. I'm trying to find a diagram of my card to see what type of capacitors it uses and their voltage to attempt a repair if possible. I'm new to this, but I have done some simpler soldering repairs on video...

I bought a use Intel I9-12900KF CPU and i received it damaged. But it looks like only one component one the backside is missing. But the solder pads looks fine.
I already "googled" it and compare the backside picture of other LGA1700 12th Gen CPU. They look all the same, no matter if its an I9 or an I3, even the Pentium. And at that spot should be a capacitor.

Does anyone have a schematics or assembly diagramm of the alder-lake cpu-backside? Or just know what size and value i need to replace the missing capacitator.

I recently purchased as MSI RTX 2080 SEAHAWK X, which isn't working. I noticed there are 2 capacitors missing from the back- see images. I am wondering, could this explain why the card won't work? I appreciate any help!
