That puts it somewhere in this range.

Looks like a custom order, shrunken diameter. Glad I kept these. These *should* be a reliable series. I have the exact same cap as you, 6.3v 1000uF 8mm. like 30 of them.

      Be careful.
That chart is based on 8x20mm and 10x20mm cans.
Cap in question is only 11.5mm long.

The question is which other diameters did they produce with this series. Only time will tell. Sometimes I am able to find datasheets for some really obscure stuff that most likely only had a very limited run.

Looking at 8x11.5mm caps the TMZ [as measured] falls in between MBZ and MCZ [or sticking to the brand between KZG and KZJ].

Kinda wish bw1 had an ESR meter to check those TMV.
They are small lytics and in Vcore.
Would make sense for them to be a high grade for ESR/Ripple.

I was wondering why the interest in the TMV.
          Do they look bad?

I would love to have one... any recommendations? I've been meaning to ask about them. I wouldn't need anything amazing... just good enough for effective use.

Any of them that are based on Bob Parkers design are essentially the same thing.
I have the older style MK-II.
If I had to get another today I would probably get the Blue one.

Capacitor Diarrhea - Nichicon PL Series
                  by DrewPhillips
Hello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.

The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...

Dell Optiplex GX260 - Advice Needed for Polymodding Motherboard
                  by SwedishDiesel
                  Howdy folks,

I have an Optiplex GX260 that blew a couple of those troublesome Nichicon HM series (ultra low ESR) electrolytic capacitors. Because said caps are obsolete, they are pretty much impossible to find on the market; I did find a listing for some but I believe they are counterfeit. I feel the easiest thing to do would be to replace all the blown caps with polymer ones. I am by no means an expert in electronics, and I've found a fair bit of conflicting information, so any guidance or confirmation would be greatly appreciated. While from a practical standpoint it's not worth...

                  Mid/late 80's Nichicon Yellow Caps
                  by nick3092
I recently acquired a set of Bose Roomate speakers from the mid to late 80's. Basically the right speaker cabinet is completely passive, and the left one has the power transformer and amplifier circuit in it. Out of curiosity, I opened it up to see what the circuit looked like. Looks like they used all Nichicon VX (2x 4700uF/16v for smoothing off the bridge rectifier), a couple random Nichicon SE series sprinkled on the board, and what really caught my eye - 2 yellow sleeved Nichicon caps (both 1uF/50v with no real series marking. Below are pictures of the caps. The only thing not shown in these...

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
                  by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
                  Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

                  Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
                  by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...
