    Soyo SY-P4VTE board Caps

How are the caps on this board.

    3 - 470uf 16V 8mm G-LUXON

    OST
    8 - 1000uf 10V 8mm RLS
    5 - 1500uf 16V 10mm RLX
    8 - 3300uf 6.3V 10mm RLX

All the caps are silver in colour, and seems fine, got the board along with a celeron bundle in Aug 2005.

Gonna spend a lot of time recapping or destroying some abit AB-ZM6 boards with visible badcaps i got to take home from work.

    Regards,

    Bill

    Re: Soyo SY-P4VTE board Caps

How old is the board? Do you know its history? None of those caps are good, so if you value your data and components, you might want to make that board a priority. If you're just learning to solder or recap, the ZM6's should be good boards to practice on until you're proficient. Topcat, Digikey, or Mouser should all have readily-available replacement parts for this board as well as the ZM6's.

If the board does not have any stability problems, I'd leave it as is. But in case of any problems, look at the caps

AKOR, i answered your question for the abit zm6 board in the other section, and i guess i'll leave the soyo the way it is, currently it isn't being used much just sitting there until i get a proper ventilated case, backordered...

Plus, reviews of Soyo and some other forums say's this board isn't very good and the sata doesn't work, Soyo support for the most part they comment is a "joke".

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

          by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.
          by black6host
          Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...

Replacing all the caps on the BenQ SW2700pt's power board didn't help...
          by Noodneek
My 3.5 years old monitor (BenQ SW2700pt) started to black out for 1-2 sec every minute or so, it was doing this even with PC disconnected from it. I searched online and read that it's probably aging capacitors and there's a workaround to lower the brightness.

I lowered it from 100 to 65% and it indeed helped, but after a couple of months the issue returned... I continued to lower the brightness, but it helped only for a couple of hours at most, then I needed to lower it further... Turning the monitor off and waiting for it to cool down also helped for a short time, after which it...
