Hi Badcaps experts
I'm having an issue with my Samsung LN46A650 and was hoping that someone might be able to help me out with a little guidance. My tv (LCD) has audio and backlight, but no picture. I don't have a multimeter, so I haven't been able to do any component testing.
For a few months my TV would, on occasion, start displaying some horizontal green/pink lines, which would eventually take over the whole image. This would generally go away after 15 mins or so. Now the TV turns on ok, but there is no video at all, I can't even see the input changes, volume adjust, etc, but they do work.
Based on a lot of reading online, and a little guessing, I thought it was the T-Con board. However, I purchased one (used) online, switched them out, and no change. I had checked the capacitors on the power supply, and checked them again, but there is no obvious evidence (oozing or bulging) that any are bad. It does seem to be a weakness on this model from what I have read.
In light of this, does it seem to be a main board issue, could the caps all look good, but still be the reason? Would a bad panel behave like this? (I really hope not). I realize I'm not giving you much to go on, please tell me what info you need and I'll do my best, if you are willing to help me out of course.
Thanks to any replies,
Arkadi
