I am a 31 years old general electronics repair agent since 2016 located in morocco casablanca .
I will start with my beggining and where i ended up.
I started studying shoe making in 2009 until 2011 and worked in the field as a manufactuting programmer for one year and i finally quit due to some job challenges .
In the fall of 2012 i decided to enter something easy to do ,
so i chose electronics repairs .
So i entered a " software and electronics" school and sudied automated systems repair... -
That's now the second time in my repair career that a through hole resistor go short!
it was a Vishay CPF124K900FHB14 1W resistor measuring new 24.9kohm. <- notice the KILO ohm. Well now it measures 28.1 Ohm!
See picture and PDF attached. This is something very rare happening, but apparently it does happen!...

Backstory
I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). My best friend is a single father. He has a son who recently turned 12 years old. Last year, he was in a workshop at his school, where the kids learned how to design something simple in a cad program that they got to print on a 3D printer. During that workshop, they were briefly exposed to C++ and I don't know what context that was in but he talks about it all these months later.
Yesterday I asked him if he would be interested in learning how to use C++ to program Arduinos. He said he was definitely interested.
