Hello, I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX10 (83NN) with an i9-14900HX, RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 32 GB RAM and the original Lenovo adapter. A few months ago, the laptop started shutting down instantly while I was playing Bannerlord. No BSOD or warning, it just completely powered off. This happened around 4–5 times, including at least once with vanilla Bannerlord. Event Viewer showed Kernel-Power 41 and Event 6008. Lenovo's UEFI diagnostics didn't find anything, and I never had the same shutdowns in Spider-Man 2. Later I noticed the battery had also failed. Windows still showed around 70–75%, but...

Hi,
my laptop is stuck in a BIOS password loop after I attempted to clear the password (I nulled it) in the BIOS settings. It now freezes after 3 failed password attempts.
I tried to do a clear CMOS, but there is no visible battery. I sent it in for repair, but it didn't work out. I finally decided to dump the BIOS myself using a CH341A programmer.
Could someone please help clear the password/NVRAM region from my dump?

I have a faulty xps laptop that i managed to recover form a landfill

The laptop does not turn on normally on a charger nor it doesn’t charge the battery.
I checked the motherboard for shorts and could not find anything everything seems fine.
PCH and CPU are not shorted

At 20v the laptop takes around 0.08A when i press the power button the power jumps to 20v 0.200a which shows the laptop tries to boot and then back down to 0.08a
The fans dont kick in or anything its just current draw and then back down to 0.08a

I have a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 ProX (model: 14arh7 R7-6800hs without nvidia gpu) with a USB-C charging fault.

USB-C port area gets extremely hot when the charger is connected, and the laptop won't charge. On inspection I found a chip marked GBVUE1X0801 (one of four identical ones on the board) with a visible black/burnt mark on the package, located near the USB-C charging circuit, I dont know if it the culprit or something else is.

Anyone got Schematic and boardview for this motherboard, specifically the USB-C PD/charging section ?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to diagnose a fault. I don't have much experience, so I would appreciate any help.

Symptoms:
It stopped charging, drained the battery completely, and shut down. When powered from the adapter, it shows the battery symbol with a lightning bolt and then turns off. Without the adapter — completely dead. The charging indicator does not light up. Once I managed to start it using shift+opt+cmd+power for 5 seconds, then only power for 5 seconds, and then a short press on power. (I assume this was some kind of SMC bypass, found it somewhere on the internet)....

I have an X1 Extreme Gen 1 that I believe has a corrupted bios and need a new one. I keep getting a black screen and beep code 288 for a display issue. Looking through the release notes there appears to have been a fix for this in a bios update that came out after the manufacturing date of this laptop. I tired extracting the file from the EXE on Lenovo's site but I can't seem to find it using innoextract and 7zip. I think it's provided in multiple parts and I might be missing something while looking for the file.

So like basically I was sitting in my room on my laptop watching something and my cat came in so I shut the laptop but then it jumped on it. I have a Dell laptop that has no power, after some work with a thermal camera I found the cap at PU1400 (circled in white) north of the FAN header was cracked. So removed that and checked the shorts again. Most were gone, but I am see a short on the board side of PL4 Cap next to the DC-In jack.

i have a rog ally z1 extreme, and i cant figure out the issue... device is off and battery unplugged (light sensor covered) i get 20v 0.004A but as soon i add the battery(new or old same problem) to the equation i now get 16v at 0.4A device still lights up shows republic of gamers logo but wont post to bios then crash after 10 sec.. with no fan spin..
after reseting EC buy holding power once it reset i get 20v 3.1 amps and nothing get hot either..(could be a usb-c meter problem...)

I replaced the motherboad on my HP Spectre x360 15-eb1079ng with one i bought on ebay from a seller in china.
The old motherboard just died out of nowhere so i does not have the old informations of the old motherboard.

After i replaced the motherboard i noticed that the key with the <>| on my german keyboard does not work like it used to but it ist now a crtl-right key.
I found out, that i have to configure the keyboard layout in the BIOS and i also found that with the BiosConfigUtility...
