I have an HP elitebook 840 G9 that died while updating the bios. I tried to restore the bios thru HP bios recovery but did not work and tried to extract the bios dump file from the image provided but did succeed in doing that. I will be very grateful if someone can look at the attached corrupt bios file and help me get a working one.

First check this site to see if your HP is supported for the great tool Mazzif has made.

If your model is newer and not in that list, you need to dump your bios, remove password from dump and reprogram bios with modified dump.

For that you need an SPI programmer like CH341A or Raspberry Pi with Flashrom or any other similar programmer. A soic8 clip is also useful so there wouldn't be a need to unsolder bios IC.

When you have your dump, just drag and drop your file on my HPUnlocker tool...

I have a HP elitebook 840 g2 that i am trying to reset the password for the bios on. I have a ch341a programmer and i am using version 1.30 of the software. It reads and verifys ok. However, the file is only 2m when saved. I see other files are around 16. What am i doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I need help repairing an HP EliteBook 840 G7. The original BIOS chip (a 3.3V Winbond W25Q256JVEN) is damaged, and I was not able to read it to make a backup.
