I just bought a elitebook 840 g4. Where someone tried to desolder the bios chip and destroyed 2 counducting paths. Tried to fix it but the capslock just blinks and the computer refuses to start. So now im looking after Boardview/Schematics. Or Could it be that someone has made a mistake when they have flashed the bios? motherboard P/N 6050A2854301 MB A01

I have been scratching my head for almost a full day on a HP EliteBook 850 G4 / 6050a2854301-MB-A01

The Laptop runs fine on battery.

When plugging in the AC adapter, the power button LED goes on for 1-2s, then switches off.
On pressing the power button I get 8 blinks plus a very short 9th flash of the power/charging LED, then the laptop goes completely dark again.

When I start the device with battery and AC power, HP battery check in the support assistant tells me that no charger is connected and no charging symbol shows up in the task...

I have a HP EliteBook 840 G4 that i bougt with a locked bios that i noticed afterwards. is there any way to unlock it if you do not know the code ?​

Bios was locked. Dumped the eeprom. Seemed correct. RCunlocked recognized the bios/series and managed to unlock. When flashing back the eeprom to the chip. De computer doesnt post anymore.
Keyboard goes on and off. Caps lock blinks 2 times and a minute later the Cpu fan starts to spin indefently. Flashing the original eeprom back does the same. Something went wrong/corrupted while dumping?

first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and exit.
use BCU. you can permanently disable Absolute lock in BCU.
