Hello Guys

I had this working Hp Elitebook, by a mistake I don't know which chip got corrupted, I tried all the bios I got from the same Elitebook Thread but none are working for me …I posted 2 of my backup files from both chips hoping that someone might assist me please guys

HP Elitebook 840 G4 known good BIOS request

Hey guys, can anyone please provide a known good BIOS for HP Elitebook 840 G4,

Motherboard: 6050A2854301-MB-A01

Caps and F12 blinks at 1second interval (1 sec on, 1 sec off) for 5 cycles then stops. No display and fan goes to maximum. Already tried cleaning ME but no luck.

Motherboard looks very clean and all voltages are present and stable. Tried updating using HP bios update tool but not working either. I would like to rule out potential BIOS issue with known good working one.

Please find attached original dump of both 8MB and 16MB chips.

Yes. That's why I marked it in green. I guess the respected hoaca388 posted two different dump options for 16 (one with the original BIOS region, and the other with a clean one). More precisely, only he can say.

Hello.

Bios or EC chip got corrupted during reading as the programmer let out the infamous magic smoke (accident when using external 3.3vdc). Used another programmer to read the chips afterwards successfully with same MD5 hashes returned.
I have no idea which one got corrupted. Caps Lock light blinks slowly for a short amount of time during boot.

Are you sure your laptop is 840 G4? because the serial you gave is for 640 G2
