I replaced a keyboard for a friend's Alienware 17 R4 and now when i boot it up it's asking for a system password. I get three tries and it shuts down. Doesn't say anything about being disabled. We called dell and it's $200 for the password. I scoured the web and even tried some websites like bios-pw.org but no luck. They said to enter the HD's serial..but that didn't work. Anyhow, I saw a thread here where user evserv helped someone out of a simiilar situation. Hoping they or someone else can help me. My service tag is 4M43H2. EXPRESS SERVICE CODE: 10044274070. I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.

The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.
