Is there an increasing GPU failure rate lately?
I have a K4200 GPU in my Z440 running Windows 10. Some time around October 28th, my GPU experienced a fault. My windows system BSOD'd with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION and restarted. On restart, the GPU drivers were rejected from loading due to an Error 43. There was some artifacting going on in both Windows 10 and Windows 8. The strange thing is, the artifacting only shows up in the Windows ecosystem. When the system is in BIOS, there are no graphical anomalies. Hi, Im not technically a new member since I joined 3 years ago. This would be my first forum post though. I'm just a guy with ADHD inattention that has a weird fixation with electronics and a sometimes delusional belief that he can fix things with absolutely no idea what he's doing. I still manage to fix things half the time when I'm not letting the smoke out. Thanks to ChatGPT and some schematics found on this forum I was able to fix an Alienware Laptop that had no power on any rails by yeeting one tiny little capacitor.
