Hello everyone!!! I recently got this Philips Smart TV model 43PFL5766/F7 E without power. After some troubleshooting, I found a short in the main board, while injecting voltage noticed a component getting hot, removed it and voila! short released. I cant find any information about the component I took off it reads FZN 910. I'm attaching some pictures of the component itself and the board for reference. Any help or suggestion is really appreciated .

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.
I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...10-15-2024, 10:13 AM -

I have a problem with Gigabyte Aorus 1080. The card seems fine (expected resistance on vcore, pex, 5v, 1.8v, 12v and reset) except for a dead short on vmem (FBVDD). It's interesting failure mode, cause usually (in my experience) when memory fails it still retains a few ohms - this one is literally a dead short.
I removed the inductors and tried inject voltage (0.8 V at 6 A) which only seemed to warm up the cables to the card while the card itself didn't show any hotspots.
Is there any way to narrow down the search for a short? I would prefer not to remove... -

I've got a friend's LG OLED on the bench (well the dining table given the size of it!). It immediately powers off when turned on and sits in standby. PSU voltages are good and after disconnecting the TCON board there is stable 12V and 22V coming out of the PSU board.
Hunting around the TCON board there appears to be a shorted power rail (DVDD09_CORE) but I'm having issues identifying the component which is shorted. I've attached a picture. It's sitting before the coil so I'm assuming it's a MOSFET of some description, but the markings I can make out don't seem...1 Photo -
by StephenI check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.

by adelfr2009I have a laptop HP Victus 15-fb with motherboard DAG3PRMB8D0, CPU Ryzen 7535HS, and GPU RTX 2050. The laptop has a power issue: it does not turn on at all, and there is no light on the DC jack.
After inspection, I found that an NMOS near the charger input had a short. I replaced it, but the short remained on the 19V line. I checked the charging circuit and it was fine, but the short appears after the current sense resistor near the charger. The charger does not pass current when connected, so I inject 3V–4V after the sense resistor. No component gets hot, except the CPU which becomes... - Loading...
