Hello there.
Forty years ago I served a full electrical apprenticeship and came out of it with an HND in Industrial Electronics and Electrical Systems. If you had told me then just where technology would be today I would not have believed you.
To cut a long story short, I spent most of my working life in the third world where "plug and play" was never an option. I had to take on anything and everything that came my way and learn to repair at component level.I can hold my own in general hardware but struggle with software. With current technology my kind have become obsolete as most systems have onboard diagnostics and DSP in general. Gone are the days of crawling around inside industrial plant to resolve cable issues. I am one of those whom would rather have a go at repairing whatever than send it off for repair unless absolutely necessary.
