    Hello there.
Forty years ago I served a full electrical apprenticeship and came out of it with an HND in Industrial Electronics and Electrical Systems. If you had told me then just where technology would be today I would not have believed you.
To cut a long story short, I spent most of my working life in the third world where "plug and play" was never an option. I had to take on anything and everything that came my way and learn to repair at component level.I can hold my own in general hardware but struggle with software. With current technology my kind have become obsolete as most systems have onboard diagnostics and DSP in general. Gone are the days of crawling around inside industrial plant to resolve cable issues. I am one of those whom would rather have a go at repairing whatever than send it off for repair unless absolutely necessary.

      Hi everyone!

I'm new here and would just like to learn new things.

I'm Shnxxx (read as Shanks). I just got bumped to this forum and it seems very informative with regards of hardware and bios and would like to explore more on these fields.

Hoping to learn more and have fun on learning.

        Hey Everyone,

I signed up as I have a Thinkpad with some bad resistors that I'm going to try and remove and add new ones. Thankful for the people on this forum that have those schematics!

My name is Ivan, and I'm excited to be a part of this community. I am a developer by profession, and while I have a solid background in software, I am relatively new to the world of computer repair.

I joined this forum to learn more about hardware issues, troubleshooting techniques, and to connect with others who share a passion for technology. I believe that sharing knowledge and experiences is key to growing our skills, and I'm eager to contribute and help where I can.

If you have any tips or resources for someone just starting out in computer repair, I would greatly appreciate it! I look forward to learning from all of you and hopefully sharing my own insights as I gain more experience.

                  Thank you!

Hi everyone, mid thirties, gamer primarily.
Playing since age 5 across various platforms.
I came across this site whilst looking for advice on how to reset a bios password on a recently acquired laptop. HP elite x2 G4 btw
So far my main tech achievements have been outfitting my Nintendo DS to run third party flash carts and replacing a few phone screens.
There's a thread already in existence here where people have had the same issue so I'm hoping my issue is also resolved relatively easily. Never removed the Bios chip before, or used a CH341B programmer before but looking to overcome these hurdles

                        Hi everyone,

I'm new here, I'm a tinkerer with a background in mechanical and medical engineering and I'm keen to learn how to fix electronics and laptops in particular - as I lost more than a few over the years and it always feels like a shame!

                            When I learn about computer
I like all my files organized
If something I don't use or forgot about it I deleted

I go Study all files in windows
If any file I don't understand.. I deleted
So .. many times I deleted files from wendows system ..then my PC can not open again .. must format

I go to workshop to fix it
Many times they format it for me
The staffs asking me .. what's wrong
                            Why always formating

I said .. this is they way I'm learning 😂😢😭

                                        Hi all,

I am hoping to reduce the pile of broken laptops and other devices in my garage by trying to fix it rather than sending it to the bin. Hope to learn from this forum.
