I am a member of a group of volunteer retirees who rebuild/refurbish donated computers (laptops, desktops, all in ones) and give them free of charge with windows, office, zoom, etc to needy School/College kids, the homeless and folks who can't afford to buy their own. We'll try to rebuild securely erasing hard drives, replacing keyboards, memory...update hard drives or whatever else is needed (we don't replace broken screens. As expected we run into lots of unusual issues, usually software bios/drivers. To date, we have rebuilt over 20,000 computers. I get the tough ones...the challenges. I expect that I'll be using the resources of this board quite a bit since I've now found it. Oh yes...my screen name; that's easy...when I disassemble a laptop and put it back together, more often than not there are two screws left

Hi guys I'm from the Phillipines and I'm new to this forum happy new year to all of you here.
Now I'm new at repairing laptops I'm just on my own project fixing my brother's laptop a lenovo flex 2 that isn't powering on. now I checked the laptop motherboard visually and I didnt see anything burnt so I checked with a multimeter I plugged the charger the 19 volts is present on the main circuit up to the fuse, now my problem is when I checked for shorts there isn't any but when I checked all the power supply coils it only reads 9v, and I know the 19v is present, what could be the problem i keep scratching my head searching for videos that can help my case
