HI, I'm not too sure what to post exactly, as I'm not as educated as a lot of people here, just a high school degree and about 6 years of experience in the field. I just work for a local repair place in Utah and I'm tired of having to turn away repairs. I can do basic board work like tristars, ports, and repairing tech damage, but I want to get into more advanced diagnosing. Hopefully, this is the first step towards a massive improvement in what repairs I can offer for people.

Hi Everyone. Tech Doc LJ here from sunny South Africa, been doing electronic repairs for about 2 years now and only just recently registered my business as well, been having alot of laptops come in for repairs lately due to the bad situation regarding our electricity grid nationally, for some reason though every now and then, i keep getting a laptop board that just doesnt give me any slack regarding fault finding to resolve the problem of not switching on !!... hopefully, well...let me rephrase,,Im told this is the BEST place to get any tech or BadCaps advice hands down compared to any other similar ( lacking behind ) site/forum currently on the net, so im faithful that should the need arise, i will be able to ask and hopefully receive the knowledge of the masters in here !

Good day and a Happy New Year to all with good health!

A lot of interesting people and with quite the experience under their belt seem to be here!

A few months back I enabled the supervisor password for the BIOS of my ThinkPad laptop... and I forgot it. Didn't make a not somewhere, thinking I would be able to remember the password later on.
Now I hope to somehow find the BIOS Chip, short it and disable the password.
If I don't no biggy, I'm installing a linux distro... and let the laptop live for a few more years! Damned be Windows 11

Just here to expand not only my research resources but hopefully knowledge.
I used to fix a lot more than I do now. Don't have quite as much time as I used to. But I have what I consider to be enough experience to be at least useful when it comes to the tech world.
I prefer linux but find myself spending more and more time stuck in windows. Im not sure how personable this is supposed to be so I'll keep it short and sweet. ... My main occupation is in the new age sciences. I sometimes do work for friends and family on occasion when they ask I'm just here for myself. I have no professional legit business in this industry I have merely my own diverse geek experience. I have zero desire to plague you with adds, spam, or any other annoying internet garbo.
