Hello. I'm new to repairs, I'm an Electromechanical Engineer but I'm passionate about computers and technology, I'm from Bolivia and that's why I write in Spanish, and translated by Google lol. I'm trying to repair an Asus GL502VL laptop and I found this page and I'm going to download the schematics and the boardview. I hope you can find the fault. The laptop doesn't turn on and when the charger is connected, the charger protects itself, because of the 19.5V after connecting to the board, the charger only gives 0.3V. Write in the forum to see if anyone has a similar experience. I hope to soon have more experience and contribute more. Greetings.

I go back a way with Topcat, while he was still in the electronics biz, when a 200 mhz processor was a sight to behold. I've been using computers since the late 80's (first machine was an 8 mhz 286 with a 20 meg hardcard) and am mostly a networking guy with a helping of programming and a side of hardware.

Most of my involvement around here is behind-the-scene stuff, mostly setting up different services, and as always, needling topcat for still running windows.

Anything else you want to know, feel free to ask.

je suis de simo de MAROC et je suis dans le développement de logiciels informatiques depuis 10 ans maintenant. En cours de route, j'ai construit quelques machines, pour le travail et la maison

Je ne suis pas sûr d'être heureux de trouver ce forum car j'ai un W204 avec des problèmes de blocage du système, donc je suppose que je vais remplacer maECU. J'avais également eu des pannes de ESP, j'ai donc acheté 2 nouveaux disques durs pour remplacer les données avec des problèmes et le problème a disparu... jusqu'à ce que j'aie fini d'installer tous mes logiciels, puis un autre blocage.

Existe-t-il un fil de discussion avec des listes de cartes mères SAFE qui n'ont pas de problèmes de cap ? Je cherche mais je n'en ai pas encore trouvé.

Idéalement, j'ai besoin d'une carte mère avec 4 canaux ATA/100 pour pouvoir connecter les 5 disques durs et 2 lecteurs optiques de mon VP6 (raid ou non, j'ai besoin d'espace).

Toute aide est la bienvenue.

Morning, new member currently located in Kansas City Missouri. I appreciate and find these web forums very valuable to the world. Places to share valuable info and experience.
I found this forum because my partner broke the charging port on her laptop. I thought it would be easier to replace the motherboard, throw an extra 8GB RAM in it and done. Id have to disassemble to figure out which port to purchase so I thought a new/used motherboard would be more time and cost effective. I thought a newer generation motherboard would be easy to install.
I was wrong, needed a different heat sink, smartcard reader, and then the BIOs had a password.
I saw some valuable info in this forum on reprograming BIOS chip after attempting use bios password generators failed.

Hi, Not much to say, I'm not much of a talker, I like ripping things apart and seeing if I can fix it. I started working on computers in 92 and helping a lot of church members after they would mess up there computers. After that I started working on tablets and phone screen replacements. (most of the time my sisters). When the pandemic hit I started picking up TV,s now and then someone would pitch to see if I could figure out what was the matter with it. And so I'm here to see if someone can help me when I get stuck on something.
