Hello everyone that cares to read this. My name is Tanner Warren. I work in general repair while I complete my degree in enterprise computing technology.

Most of my work is level 2 repairs, but I just got setup with a Hakko dual port, and a hot air station (I don't know the models off the top of my head but its miles better than the shitty $30 solder iron I was using prior.) My field of expertise in repair is general phone and computer repair, and I dabble in TV repair but my success rates are less than I had hoped for with all these back lights getting fried leading me to replace power boards without success.

Outside of work I do networking and break things in VMs on an Dell Poweredge R710 I got for cheap after my VMWare license for school expired. At the moment, things aren't too complex on the network. I've got my issued Modem which leads to a Ubiquity Dream Machine that acts as a layer 3 switch and an IPS primarily. After that I have a handful of subnets, one for networking/server equipment and their associated VM's, a wired subnet, and a wireless subnet.

On my networking subnet I've got a Cisco switch hooked into just the R710 at the moment, which is running PiHole on Ubuntu Server.

On the wired network, I have my pride and joy. A hodgepodge of parts I could afford at the time shoved into a box, which some may refer to as a "Gaming rig." Nothing too fancy by today's standards, but heres what I've got:
                  i5-8600K clocked at 4.6Ghz
                  EVGA 1070ti
Two 8Gb and two 4Gb sticks of DDR4 memory
1.75TB of SSD space, a 4TB WD Black, and a 2TB WD Blue.
Too many anime stickers on the case, which is a Phanteks P400
Windows 10 Education Edition, which is basically all editions features in one package

I'm not going to go into the wireless network all that much, but my router is a Linksys WRT-3200ACM, which has DD-WRT on the primary partition and OEM firmware on the second. I also have an old ass Macbook pro A1425, triple booted with Catalina, Ubuntu 18, and Windows 10. I have had to replaced the speakers on twice on the mf. Still better than owning an Air and figuring out why if wont charge every other month.

I don't really know what else to write here so I'm going to just stop now.

Hi everyone. My name is Sadegh. I've always loved tinkering with electronics, but it's never turned into anything serious. A few days ago, my trusty laptop went black, and I've been learning the ins and outs of laptop repair ever since. I figured that instead of sending my laptop away not knowing what they're gonna do to it, I would just get down and dirty and learn something in the process.

Hi all. I'm a tinkerer (i.e., I like to take things apart and can't always get them back together again). I don't have a technical background/education, but I've been building and fixing computers for the better part to two decades, and my workshop is filled with different machines in varying states of disrepair. Found this site while searching for .bin BIOS after playing with a CH341 programmer. Cool toy, but some idiot forgot to make a backup before diving in and editing. Rookie mistake.

Bought a T440p with a BIOS lock and I've come here seeking answers. Also would be a great opportunity to learn some BIOS modding.

I can't believe I only just found this forum yesterday. I am no professional technician but I do love tinkering electronic devices, mostly my own. Right now, I'm trying to repair an iphone 6 with water damage.

I'm looking forward to learning so much more here.

                              Have a great day everyone!

Hi, I'm zspot, brand spanking new to the forum, and a big mo' when it comes to this information. I'm always interested in what makes things tick and work and am always opening up this or that broken thing to try and figure out myself how to fix it, with no success. Well, with the exception of computers. I have been able to fix software issues but hardware is much harder for me and so anyway I'd love to learn about whatever I can here. At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to enter the BIOS on a Panasonic Toughbook cf 54 that I purchased at auction. I keep getting a password request. 😖

I do thank you for allowing me to join, and hope everyone has a wonderful day (or night)!!
