Hello all, my name is Andy and I am looking forward to getting involved in the forum.

I have done component level repair for the last 20 years in my spare time. Due to ill health, I am no longer employable so doing more repairs is fastly becoming a good option for me.

My Panasonic TV TC-P50G10 made a loud pop and picture went off. Switched off at main supply. Then after 1 hr, switch on. Got burning smell, and some smoke from bottom vent.
Did not check for blinking red light. Guess it may have poped a cap then burnt out a semi conductor or resistor on power board? Any ideas which boards to check first. Still to open the back.

Hi, I've been interested in electronics for a number of years but only got into it over the past couple of years. I don't work in the electronics industry and tend to do this as a hobby, I'm mainly self taught (YouTube is the best)
I've joined this forum to further expand my knowledge which hopefully will be invaluable when it comes to sharing experiences.

                        Hi All,

Been active in electronics over 30 years.

Have a 7 y/o plasma that I hate to toss for what may be an easy fix.

Hope to get some help on diagnosing the issue.

                        -Ken

Hello, this is my first obligatory post, just in case I need to start a thread of my own one day like an adult who has searched and found no relevant information to the question of which I was going to ask.
I'm in the States, Ohio in particular, stumbled across the site and they have pictures behind the join wall which are useful. The thread I found referenced an external site with more info but it is all in Polish, which is less than useful, since most people state side can barely speak one language let alone a foreign one.

So I've got basic diagnostic gear which comes in handy from time to time, but it seems like this is the magical place where people find diagrams and such to aid in diagnostics.

My background is CS but I've always dabbled with electronics ranging from the old and archaic to newer embedded systems. (oddly I'm here for a led backlight circuit on the fritz)

                                  So hi to everyone!

P.S. I would also like to pledge to not create redundant threads that I could have easily searched for.
P.P.S. I missed forums, the modern web just doesn't feel the same as forums. (forums have always been my BBS, not old enough for bbs)

                                        Hi Folks,

Well this forum is an interesting and refreshing find!

I'm an electronics tinkerer of some years and know just enough to be really dangerous

Mainly into audio stuff with a bit of PC on the side. However, it was Samsung TV power boards that brought me here!
