BadCaps has helped me years before I even created an account, when I decided to biosmod an Haswell-era Asus laptop (I didn't start very well, since I flashed the modded update capsule directly to the SPI nand 😂; no backups whatsoever, but with the help of this and other forums, I could frankenstein back the UEFI into a full image, eventually unlocking all that AMI was hiding 😂). I'd like to say "thank you" for all the people in this community, specially the ones making this even possible.
And sorry for taking so long for making this post (brain really isn't the same).

Hi, Im not technically a new member since I joined 3 years ago. This would be my first forum post though. I'm just a guy with ADHD inattention that has a weird fixation with electronics and a sometimes delusional belief that he can fix things with absolutely no idea what he's doing. I still manage to fix things half the time when I'm not letting the smoke out. Thanks to ChatGPT and some schematics found on this forum I was able to fix an Alienware Laptop that had no power on any rails by yeeting one tiny little capacitor. Something about holding down voltage to the MOSFETS. And I was able to restore power to an old Galaxy Note 2 with severe water damage just long enough to get all the cherished photos off of it before the screen eventually started to jitter and flicker and stop working completely. I guess I should make a donation. Anyways, here's my introduction as requested.

As my username suggests, I have been passionate about computers since I was very young.
I'm not really interested in the latest machines; on the contrary, I like to try to optimise ‘old clunkers’. I try to make them perform at levels that even their designers never imagined.
This involves cooling, overclocking and a lot of OS optimisation. it's more about challenges than pure performance
I discovered this forum recently. It's more about repairs than optimisation... but often, the line between the two is blurred. 😂

Working with computers and electronics at almost 32 years now.
I´m a dinossaur on pc´s , and some vintage electronics that isn´t useful even to mention today.
But still learning a bit each time that comes to this forum.. Never posted a single line in 10 years.
