Wooow, there's still people introducing themselves even to this day.

The zoomers yearn for the forums. Me included although I never really stopped using them, but I've found myself signing up for more and more these past few years.

I'm an ex-field technician, and to be honest I came here solely for the U1 tool. My version is about 4 years old and doesn't work as I remember it should, I don't even really know *why* I need it, I just know that my legit version errors out.
I've worked in the repair side of things professionally for about 5ish years now. Before I was mainly repairing stuff under Dell/Lenovo/HP's field repair program through sketchy subcontractors. I never really branched out to freelancing even though I know I should. It's just a little difficult to source available work.

Anyways, started repairing computers around a decade and a half ago when I was like... 11? I've come a really long way since then, especially as a certified technician.
Last job involved repairing pre-production Microsoft Azure servers, so that's pretty neat to know that on the daily I was fixing around nice house's worth of computers dollar-wise. I'm mainly based in the silicon valley, although it's been kind of a meme since covid.

I don't plan on being super active unless I begin working on more broken electronics. Or learn about neat tools.

    Anyways, yeah,

hi there, greetings from Croatia, moved here 5 years ago from the Netherlands.

I've been working on game console repairs for decades, just recently started to include interest in repairing PC mainboards, and came here on the back of seeing a video from @LearnElectronicsRepair on YouTube, looking forward to take part in the community.

            Hi guys,

Pauly from Namibia here. Joined Badcaps because my laptop isn't working anymore and saw that this forum has a lot of support. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H with corrupted BIOS. I hope I can also be a help in any way.
I am an engineering student (Electronics and Computer) and would like to repair my laptop myself, also, there is no place else to repair it.

Hi all! My name is Jason and I'm a managing partner (Administration side) for a multi-location repair business based in the United States. I am not the technical expert and nor have a long background in computers and IT, that is my business partner's specialty so my additions will either be limited or coming through me from someone else, however we've been doing this for 7 years total. Looking to learn and expand our knowledge base while also extending what we've learned in the field during our short time to help others as well!

My name is Pedro and I have recently started electronics repair as a hobby. I have found this forum as a very good source of knowledge in the past as it has helped me fix a TV or two already. I'm now trying to fix another one 😁

                                    Hello,

I'm not to talkative sometimes and fairly private. Here is a small bit why I thought I'd join the forum. Friends take me for a handy-man since I worked in building industry. I have been known to fix my own home, auto, and now it seems some electronics. The electronics seem a lot less messy and don't require so much space. I was looking to perhaps diagnose my laptop board, but we'll see. These days there is less time, so things get pushed to the back burner.

Trivia on me: I've diagnosed very simple electric stuff in auto, camper, cabin, and houses. First desktop computer I used was an Apple at school as a kid. It was one with a Green and black monitor. First computer we had as a family was an i386. My first computer I assembled had an original Antec Lanboy case, an ATI 9600 All In Wounder graphics card, and most important an AMD ?Athlon XP or something. At the time my video card had more vram them our family computer had ram. I don't remember much details about that other then the case had a strap to carry to LAN parties.

I hope that was somewhat interesting, though I don't expect much

Well this brings back memories. Hey everyone,

Big into PC building, I specialize in Mini-ITX builds with custom loops. Currently running a 3090 and 5800X3D build, aiming to move into a small FormD T1 case.

I have a Lenovo Legion Y740-15IRH with a now non-functional keyboard that I've been trying to fix, let's see what I can find on here. ITE8176 is the likely culprit.

Cinematographer and photographer in my free time, in the military pilot pipeline.
