              Hey everyone!
Been working in the computer/electronics industry for over 20 years. I too remember the good ol days of my first time playing battle tank on a 386dx35 mhz system. I also remember the fond days of B.B.S.s. How addicting an ASCII text based game could be....L.O.R.D. anyone? I remember the software library in London, Ontario Canada, where you could go rent out a 5.25" floppy of your favourite game or program, take it home and copy it.
I still do repairs as a hobby. Owned a computer business in London for 5 years. Now getting into micro soldering. I also dabble in graphic design, web design & development, car and home audio.

If I can help in any way or have more questions, feel free to reach out.
              Have fun repairing!

                        Names Mandelo Lowery

                        MO:
I am a firmware/software engineering technician, I test embedded firmware, it is somewhat similar to the bios you find on your motherboard. Also test software, both leaning towards hardware side.

Firmware, software, hardware, cover all 3 pretty much... build test fixtures for Firmware engineers, compose and run functional tests.

                        I work on wind turbines

I have recently entered the world of electronics and I see that in this forum there is a lot of information about schematics that can be very useful.

                                Greetings.

Howdy, everyone! I've been an electronic technician since graduating from Basic Electronics at Keesler AFB in 1975. Fell in love with electronics, made it my career and hobby. Worked for heavyweights like the MITRE Corporation, Garrett Turbine Engine Company, and General Dynamics. Retired from the military as a radar technician. I'm gonna like it here, I can see that already!

Hi! I have a lot of junk electronics I want to fix. My repair skills are amateur-ish. At best.

My latest addition and current problem is a giant TV I got on Craigslist in the free section. So far it cost me $20 in gas, $100 in parts, and about 4 solid hours of work, and it's still broken. Kinda. When I do get rid of it, it'll be at a loss. Probably. It's been a learning experience, so that's the best we can ever hope for on a first try on a new type of repair.

Well, actually, this isn't my first repair attempt of a display. My first display repair attempt didn't go well, either. I opened it up, spotted a bunch of bulging caps, placed an order on digikey, replaced the caps with nichicons and panasonics, then it still didn't work. Like, at all. I didn't spot any shorted diodes, fets, or other visually bad components, so that was a waste. I put the circuit boards in my collection so I can harvest those caps later if the need arises.

I have brought back some audio equipment and computer motherboards by installing new caps, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

                                          Hi hey hello!

Bowl here from the EU. Electronics is a hobby for me and I recently purchased a busted PC monitor to fix up; registered to the site to ask someone with a similar issue for help. If I manage to fix it up it will be my first board level repair and I'm really looking forward to it.
