Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello everyone, I'm Srdjan and I come from Serbia, my hobby and passion is repairing laptops/computer parts. I'm 21 years old at the moment and I'm looking to expand my knowledge, hopefully people from this community can help me with that and I hope I will be able to help someone as well
Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
So I'll start things off :
My name is Holden53 and I'm a tech junkie. I've been fixing broken computers for a local thrift store here in West Palm Beach, FL and have been always interested in component level. I was trained as break fix in 1972 and programing PDP11's, Trash80's and IBM-DX2's and throw in some OS2 for good measure. Later went on to Network and PM.
I am now officially retired - I assisted and helped run a South Florida storm center for a major power company as my last gig . The new building is up and running and I got a tap on the shoulder from HR that it was time to retire. So now I fix broken computers for a local charity thrift store. It keeps me busy.
Do I know component break/fix? No, I didn't do much component work because in corporate work you change parts and get things running asap.
So like our WEB CO says:
[QUOTE]so these days, I'm forced to be a software guy as well.. as I fix pc's for friends and that usually means cleaning virus/trojan/adware and reinstalling OS's.. yeah hardware breaks but not that often  so as a result, I keep up on my software knowledge by visting a few security forums.. and trolling around a few hardware forums as well. [\QUOTE]
So I will check out the forums and say Hello - Cheers!

Hi.
I am Michał, an electronics engineer, but I am currently working as an IT specialist.
I would like to return to my profession, among other things, by repairing electronic devices, which I sometimes do.
I hope that I will meet your understanding. I am a good student and I greet you warmly.
Mick.
