New "fat" iPod Nano cloned by Chinese

Well, China has been cloning almost everything like cars, consumer electronics, etc. But, the Chinese have already produced a clone of Apple's new "fat" iPod Nano.

    engadget reported it here: http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/14/t...-its-fat-head/

I found that some company called Noto-Tech in China posted this on their website: http://www.noto-tech.com/productdeta...ID=23&MinID=19

I wouldn't be surprized if the ipod itself wasn't made in China.

The very same factory could produce the 'clones' on the same line, with cheaper parts, and undercut apple.

no they can make them with the same parts and the Apple sauce zealots will still drone on about Apple's superior hardware...

iPod nano G3 - alternative soldering point for the white battery wire
          by Norrecito
          Hi,

A friend of mine gave me an iPod nano G3 to see if I can fix it for him.

The device had a faulty battery and he tried to replace it but failed. In the process he managed to pull off the pads that corresponds to the white battery wire (marked with a red circle in the images)....from both sides of the PCB. Fortunetely he didn't damage anything else.
This is usually an easy fix HOWEVER, on the PCB, I see no traces coming from the VIA and after searching the internet, I've found no schematics nor boardview for this device. With the pads gone from both sides I seem...
