    Baird T16509DLEDDS 65" UHD TV

Friend has asked me to look at a Baird T16509DLEDDS

When plugged in, red standby light comes on, press power and green light comes on, but get nothing apart from that.
With back removed, there is a blue LED illuminated on the small network/wifi board (if thats what it is called lol)

I have tested the voltages coming from power board, and all seem ok, except dont get any readings for the power to the backlights, whether backlights are plugged in or not, is this normal?

Any suggestions what to try next, or any know issues much appreciated

If all the supply voltages are normal, then the firmware may have crashed, if there is a programmer, then you can merge the contents (Dump) and put it here, I'll take a look and if it's not working, then I'll fix it.

So, no picture on screen with flashlight? What is voltage across main capacitor?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Yes there is picture with flashlight

          Main cap voltages are 390v

I have a suspicion its the backlights at fault, however I dont really want to pull the screen if I dont have to being a 65", thats why I was asking when testing votages on the PB, should i get voltage where the backlights plug into?

If you have a picture when using a flashlight, 99% of the time it’s the backlights that are bad

When turning on tv you should get a voltage rise on the led pins.

Cheers m8, I was doing it wrong, I was turning TV on then testing voltage afterwards

                      Hey All!

Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!

I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.

The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.

When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.

TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...

Samsung UN48H5500AF - no standby, no video, no sound, backlights on when plugged in
                      by fixitjunkie
                      Hello All,

Picked this up at a recycle center with hopes of a simple fix.
When plugged in, the backlights come on, two blue LEDs on the T-con board illuminate then one goes out. Cycling the on-off switch has no effect.

On the power supply board there are four test points labeled +, sine wave, sine wave and -. There is 120VAC across the sine waves and 113VDC across
+ and -. All the caps look good.

I'm not sure where to check for the standby voltage output?

Shop Jimmy's has plenty of PS boards, Main boards and T-con boards....

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
                      by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                      I made the following tests:
                      1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
                      2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

                      VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
                      by bpcannan
                      'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Samsung UE49MU6400 acts dead until disconnecting backlights, then works.
                      by jesterace
Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...
