Re: Samsung UN48H5500AF - no standby, no video, no sound, backlights on when plugged
Thanks for the feedback Davi.p. This is going well beyond my capabilities. I'll put this one back in the grave and dig up something else.

Re: Samsung UN48H5500AF - no standby, no video, no sound, backlights on when plugged
Thanks Neil. I found the test points for DC voltage signals. They all measured 12.6V. Tried the T-con disconnect method one side at a time and no change. Looks like this one is toast. Thanks again for the help....

Samsung UN48H5500AF - no standby, no video, no sound, backlights on when plugged in
Hello All,
Picked this up at a recycle center with hopes of a simple fix.
When plugged in, the backlights come on, two blue LEDs on the T-con board illuminate then one goes out. Cycling the on-off switch has no effect.
On the power supply board there are four test points labeled +, sine wave, sine wave and -. There is 120VAC across the sine waves and 113VDC across
+ and -. All the caps look good.
I'm not sure where to check for the standby voltage output?
Shop Jimmy's has plenty of PS boards, Main boards and T-con boards....

Re: Samsung HP-R5072 Plasma - Poor picture quality
So just to clarify, the photo of the power supply board RB123 is referring to is the original board prior to a repair attempt. I replaced all the bulging caps but the no power/no standby condition persisted. This is when I ordered a replacement board and eventually fixed it. Further diagnosis with the help of RJ determined it was likely a failure of U101 which is well beyond my repair capabilities.
So the X-sus board arrived today and I replaced it. The picture is back and looks great! However, there's a buzzing noise...

Re: Samsung HP-R5072 Plasma - Poor picture quality
So I found the X-sus T6.3A fuse blown and replaced it with a T8.0A. from the old PS board and powered up. The screen stayed blank and I heard relays cycling repeatedly. The 8.0A fuse did not blow. Powered it back up with no fuse and I'm back to where I started.
Ordered a $20 X-sus board from E-bay. Will replace and see what happens.

Samsung HP-R5072 Plasma - Poor picture quality
Hello All,
I recently fixed this TV for a no power/no standby condition with the guidance of TV timmy and RJ. Replaced the main power supply board and a bulging cap on the Y-sus board. TV work perfectly and I unplugged it as a precaution. Went to use it the other day. After starting off as a blank screen, about 15 minutes later it looks like this.
Where should I start? Thanks....

Re: LG 47LA6200-UA No Picture - has audio
Replaced the LED's with excellent quality replacements from Nick's TV. IT'S FIXED!!. Thank you nomoresonys and Nick's TV. Another TV to hang in the sports book!

Re: LG 47LA6200-UA No Picture - has audio
Just thinking, is the backlight circuit designed such that all the LED's go out if just one LED fails? If not, I may have jumped on this fix too fast instead of
checking for power going to the LED's.

It's disassembled. Will order the LED's and see what happens.

Re: LG 47LA6200-UA No Picture - has audio
Thanks nomoresonys and Nick's TV! It's doing exactly what you described Nick. I get the flash of the LG logo then the screen is dark but picture is there and can be seen with a flashlight. How difficult is the backlight replacement?

LG 47LA6200-UA No Picture - has audio
I recently fixed my Samsung plasma with the help of RJ and TV Timmy so I decided to try another project. This LG 47" was given to me by a friend. When I opened it up, the HDMI IN 1(ARC) input jack fell out. I'm guessing this is probably not the cause. All of the caps look good. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks....

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
Voltage across C101 - 165V
Resistance across RT201 - 18 ohms

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
Fuse checks good. Checked for DC voltage on both sides of D108 to ground (used negative side of several capacitors for a ground point). No voltage present. It is a VIPer22A.

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
Rechecked the fuse again and supplied 120VAC to the board. No DC voltage
across D108.

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
So I can wire a 120VAC bench source to the board and check for 5VDC across
D108?...

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
I replaced three caps on the original power supply PCB and one on the Ysus PCB. Still no power or standby. Then, I swapped the original power supply board with a used one. IT'S FIXED! I'm still curious what failed on the original board. Maybe I should just accept victory and let it go. Thanks for the insight TVtimmy and RJ!! Will gladly be donating to the site.

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
Got it...Thanks!! So a new Ysus board is $120. Out came the soldering pen.
Some of the characteristics are obvious but not sure about the tolerance and some of the other letters. Some cap manufacturers advertise low ESR. Does this matter or will any manufacturer suffice?...

Re: Samsung HPR5072- No Power- No Standby
This cap is on the Y-Main PCB.
So these caps explode due to the surge...an acute failure?
Do I need to address this failed cap before swapping the Main Power PCB and powering up?...
