might be a shorted panel, if its out of warranty maybe try the "tape cut-off" method.

primus paul, lets sleep quiet nights, the panel is cracked, unless you want to glue each of the milions glass pieces you can take car destination ecologic isle..

The black at the top is a dead give away. It is quite obviously cracked and anyone that fixes TVs can identify the signs.
Quit with the attitude nomoresonys.

Like I said I didn't see it, so I missed it, still not putting up with davi pee or your ATTITUDE, YOU GOT ME DIF??? ITS REALLY NOT OBVIOUS TO ME THAT YOU VE EVER DONE ANY REPAIR TO A TV, SO YOU CAN SHUT UP WITH THE THOSE THAT REPAIR NONSENSE DIF.

I wonder what could have cracked it. These modern TVs are so light, but I guess it comes at the cost of very flimsy and flexible chassis/cases resulting in the possibility of stress fractures even without any obvious strikes or hits to the TV?

Primuspaul it seems not a little object, but maybe the set it:s been bent at the top i don't know.. for nomoresonys, this appens when no attention is put to repair cases and this is clear from every post made, there is only too much wish to partecipate, ok the hobby but no interfering too much with other people's troubles when cases are very difficult.. repairs are delicate and every bad advice can make the o.p. of wishing to give up..

Remove the screen and see if there is crack on other side

The crack is internal, the leaking black liquid crystal is the indicator.

nomoresonys, I researched this "tape cut-off" method you mentioned and it appears to be used for double image issues and sometimes lines. I looked at the picture I posted and this seems to be an internally cracked panel so I'm not entirely sure how the "tape cut-off" method would help me here unless I'm misunderstanding something.

No Primuspaul, I didn't notice the break across the top at first sight, then the rudeness started, but that's to be expected from them, there's no fixing a cracked screen.
