If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
Try using the set of CCFLs that failed in CN2 in one of the other connectors. That will tell you if it's the CCFLs themselves (or associated wiring) or the circuit that drives that CCFL. Also, what kind of noise? Is it a "buzz"? Could be arcing... try turning off the overhead lights (be careful, make sure you can still see what you are doing!!) and see if you can find the source.Comment

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
It is most likely that the problem is with the wires to the CCFL, Wrog's idea will confirm it. If it IS the wiring, be very careful disassembling the panel. The flexible circuits are very fragile, especially where they attach to the glass panel.

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
I think I've found the source -- it is a "buzzing" sound -- so while awaiting your replies I disassembled the backlight assembly further, the CFL on CN2 appears to be broken at its end. I plugged in the CFL so I could see it and turned the power supply on and that one did not light up and the "buzz" was coming from the broken end of the tube. I think you've helped me find my issue.I don't see any part numbers or anything to indicate what I should order for replacement parts. Do I have to buy the two bulb assembly? It looks like it might break down further and the individual bulbs might be able to be replaced? I have attached a photo of the full assembly as well as the broken end in case it helps anyone else.
Thanks again,
TomComment

ccflwarehouse.com and ccfldirect.com sell replacements that come in a variety of options (with housing, with cables, with silicon caps, without, etc).
I believe a few members here have positive experiences with ccflwarehouse.com. I can't speak for either since I have never done business with them.

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
These appear to be right on 2.0mm in diameter and 480.0mm in length -- I'm not seeing anything in those measurements available.
Edit: I'm just going to fill out their contact form and see what they've got -- they are in Omaha just down the road so should get here pretty quick.
Thanks again everyone for the assistance!!

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
Excellent -- if they don't work out, there's someone on eBay selling lamps specifically for this model (though they don't state what size they are). Good luck and post back with your success!Comment

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
Well I only broke 2 more bulbs but I got the bad one replaced and back in business! However the display seems very strange, dim, colors don't 'pop' like they used to -- I have a feeling I got the three sheets of plastic between the backlight and the LCD wrong. I can take it back apart and fix but I'm not sure how they came out.. can anyone provide any pointers as far as the order of the 3 sheets and which side is supposed to be out?
Thanks,
TomComment

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
If this is simular to a LCD sceen
Rough side of thick glass down/white sheet between it and metal case
Two more pieces of plastic with smooth side down
Thicker piece of plastic, shiny silver side down, good luck
Al.
This one i have apart I think i kept them in corect order Let me know how it turns out.Last edited by alexanna; 12-04-2010, 12:21 AM.Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!Comment

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
I followed your direction, it appears that the only one that matters is the 'prism' one -- I flipped it around (they have tabs so once you know one all the others have to be the correct orientation, but not necessarily the right order) and it looks 1000x better. Back to new!! Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks,

Re: Westinghouse LCM22W2 Help (DAC-19M009)
I just got one of these boards in to repair. The main problem i am having is that it seems that he took it to someone else for repair first and they removed two caps from the board and never replaced them. I have no way of finding out the values of them and was wondering of someone could look on theirs that they are working on. Their locations are CE105 and CE109. Thank you
Sincerely,
John GrahamComment

Apparently, the Westinghouse LCM22W2 and the Acer AL2216W both use the same Delta DAC-19M009 (from the photographs on post #1 and my DAC-19M009 (see pic below). Correct me if I am wrong.
The Viewsonic (forget the model number) is different in that it has a auxiliary board for the audio.Comment
