The whole F, J and H series are a fiasco, backlight that turns blue over time, and panel dies like flies, develops horizontal lines or flickering.
Seems that from UM series forward LGs have been solid, at least compared to Samsung, their NU series have terrible backlights. RU, TU and expensive QLEDs have been having panel problems. I haven't seen any LG UM models or newer with any fault for sale around here.
Easy to figure out when you search the motherboard for a select model and check the price, usually if it has bad BGA there will be listings offering to "repair" the board, and a working one will cost at least 70% of what the TV is worth. -

The "U" is for ultra HD (4k), for 1080p/768p LG uses "L" prefix, like LF or LJ
Bottom tier LED TVs have reached stagnation, there's nothing new since 2017, same peak brightness, panel types vary from manufacturer, lg 55 inch is IPS or ADS, they're similar, some 60 inch models uses VA.
Even high tier, most of them are 4k 120Hz, the only difference between them is having a higher peak brightness with mini-led or 8k panel, which has no use right now.Last edited by Biruslapio; 04-13-2022, 04:52 PM.Comment

Hello all,
I'm looking for some help with an ASUS ProArt Display PA278CV that's no longer working after a lightning strike. The graphics card connected to it also failed, which points to some sort of surge.
The monitor powers up and the on-screen display (OSD) menu works perfectly fine. However, it displays a "No Signal" message regardless of whether I use the HDMI or DisplayPort inputs. Since the menu system is functional, I suspect the issue is with the input circuitry rather than the main power supply or the display panel itself. I've already tested the power... -
Hi all,
I've had trouble with the power on this device since I got it. It always shut down with no warning and would often fail to power up. Dell's advice has been to disconnect the power and battery, wait, then reconnect and boot. Letting the battery run down completely also helped. I had them come out at one point and they said they replaced the board. This helped for a while but then it just stopped powering on. At this point it's well out of warranty. I missed the chance to get them to come out again because life. Current situation is it shows zero signs of life with both barrel... -

Problem: I need to purchase a mosfet chip from board 820-02100 M1 Pro, that is supposed to be Q5820 but according to Digikey, the schematic diagram I sent them, neither are relevant to the actual mosfet specification I sent them. I just basically need to find this mosfet to purchase, I cannot find it anywhere and am hoping someone could point me in the right direction without have to purchase this entire allusive board. Already checked with Digikey, Mouser, Aliexpress, eBay. Any suggestions?

Hi all,
I made a big-ass mess here of my father's beloved P602, and I'm trying to figure out if I should order a batch of overpriced ribbons or if I'd just be throwing more good money at the bad.
He woke up recently to a bunch of white bars going down the right side of the screen. From what I'd seen in these places, I figured the T-con board has gone out or has a bad connection. I took the back off and gently poked at the socketed ribbons and sure enough, got the image back. It was mainly the far left ribbon, and it would snap back to stripes if I let off the pressure.... -
Hey all, was wanting to know what cheapest option is for programming EC chips such as the MEC5107-LJ
