LG 55UH850V LED TV Backlights. Buy used or non genuine

    Hi all,
Issue with my TV is that it comes on and goes dark. You can just about make out moving images if you look closely. Everything I have read on here points to a faulty backlight.

This is a bottom lit LED TV with I think 2 strips. I am guessing not the ones you can just unsolder the faulty LED and replace or am I way off?

Considering age of TV (i.e. 2017) genuine new parts are not readily available. So I guess the question is should I get the backlights from somewhere like AliExpress or get a genuine used part from ebay?

    Attached is back of TV

    Thanks

All of your LEDs will have aged the same, the failed one(s) being the first to go. Replace the whole set with new from Ali or forever be chasing dying LEDs.

Sorry to drag this post back up again.

I have just received the 2 led strips from Ali and would be doing the replacement. Is it a must that I need suction cups to lift the screen off or is there another way to do it?

If I do need one which can I buy off amazon? ....or even Ali if it means waiting ..again
        thanks

You can use bathroom handle with suction cups or automotive type suction cups, you should be able to find them locally.
Some people don't use any suction cups at all, just grabbing screen with bare hands, so it depends how brave and careful you are.
And don't apply too much suction, it can crack screen.

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
            by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

            I made the following tests:
            1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
            2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

            VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
            by bpcannan
            'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Samsung UE49MU6400 acts dead until disconnecting backlights, then works.
            by jesterace
Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...

HUAWEI Matebook D15 Bom-WDQ9 - faulty onboard RAM
            by JarzabekPZ
I have a Huawei Matebook D15, MB DAH98PMBAB0 REV. B with faulty onboard RAM. Laptop starts but when loading Windows instantly gets BSOD's. Passmark Memtest shows multpile faults on test 11. Memory is itentified as 2 modules Samsung M471A5244CB0-CWE, which are available as standard so-dimm. Is it possible to desolder memory from such module and solder it on the MB? How to identyfiy which one on the MB is faulty?

            Sony KD-75X750H no backlights
            by x_orange90_x
I just removed the back cover to test the backlights because when I first plug it in it will flash once and then start dark but I can see the image. I got 131v on string 1 and 167v on string 2. Usually when I get a bad set the meter reads 300v and they won't light up. When testing, each set lights up inside the tv. When I plug in the power and check the leads with my multimeter both strings are only about 3v.

Does this difference in voltage between the strings indicate that the lesser has bad LEDs? Or is it normal that they are not the same voltage? I've read some about this tv and...
