Hey everyone, I have a Sharp LC-60LE920UN LED TV that I just picked up. Plugging the TV in only gives a flashing power indicator. According to the service manual, one fast flash and one slow flash means a lamp failure. I assumed it would just be a failed LED so I started testing all of the led circuits. Each circuit lit up when power was applied.
I did some searching and apparently there is a way to force the TV on for older models by plugging the TV in with some buttons held. However, this TV does not have physical buttons but instead has capacitive touch buttons. I have tried every combination I found listed of holding the buttons down but no service menu.
The only voltage I get from the power supply is the 5V standby. I disconnected the main board and LED driver board then shorted the 5V standby to the PS_ON pin and the power supply started up. Both 13V rails and the 24V rail were present. The AC_DET signal was also present. So it seems that the power supply is functioning.
I am not sure how it decides that there is a lamp failure as it does not even try activating the LEDs. The power supply is never activated so the main board is only getting 5V and the LED driver board is not getting powered. So I am not sure how it decides that the TV has a lamp failure.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check next?
