    Sharp LC-52E77UN DET_D3V3 (52pin) error (L). D3.3V is not applied.

    Good afternoon all,

I have a Sharp Aquios LC-52E77UN that will not stay powered on. Sometimes it works for 3-5 minutes other times it will make it an hour but it always makes a popping sound before turning off. It then flashes the power light twice as well as the OPC light twice. I have attached the service manual and according to page 6-17, my error is "DET_D3V3 (52pin) error (L). D3.3V is not applied."

I have read another post on BADCAPS that had a similar issue but with no resolution:

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=84559

I followed the steps in that discussion and have the following readings:

    Off
    Pin 1,2 - 0V
    Pin 5,6 - Ground
    Pin 9 - 3V
    Pin 10 - 0V
    Pin 11 - 5V
    Pin 12 - 0V

    On
    Pin 1,2 - 13.1V
    Pin 5,6 - Ground
    Pin 9 - 2.99V
    Pin 10 - 2.85V
    Pin 11 - 5.01V
    Pin 12 - 3.18V

Hoping someone can jump in and tell me where to go next.
Thanks for any help provided in advance!

You should put down the pin names for all those pins so we can easily see what each pins is for.

Thanks Budm. Pins are labeled as follows:

      Off
      Pin 1,2= 13.5V (SIGNAL) - 0V
      Pin 5,6= SGND(AUDIO) - Ground
      Pin 9= AC_DET - 3V
      Pin 10= PS_ON - 0V
      Pin 11= BU5V - 5V
      Pin 12= PNL_POW - 0V

      On
      Pin 1,2= 13.5V (SIGNAL) - 13.1V
      Pin 5,6= SGND(AUDIO) - Ground
      Pin 9= AC_DET - 2.99V
      Pin 10= PS_ON - 2.85V
      Pin 11= BU5V - 5.01V
      Pin 12= PNL_POW - 3.18V

Can you post focused photos of your circuit boards.

Has Pin2 of P2003 on the mainboard have the 3.3V present?

Cannot read the legend around the various connectors since they are out of focus.

Also what is the voltage on Pin 5 (Vout) of IC9703

Good evening and thanks for the reply.
Sorry about the pictures, took them as still and focused as I could get them.

PIN2 of P2003 is labeled OPT+3.3V and reads 3.3V with power on.
PIN5 of IC9703 shows 3.3V with power on.

So I have a logic theory question. While the TV is in a working state, all voltages read as they should from every spot I've checked (I've been all over to the level I understand). When the tv turns itself off and gives me the flashing error lights, all reading are the same is if i turned the tv off manually. With an intermittent problem, how can i troubleshoot down to a bad circuit component? I'm an aircraft electrical technician and have a lot of time troubleshooting wiring and box level failures, but getting down to circuit board components is a whole new thing for me.

Thanks for all your recommendations so far,

                Jeff Holder

Does this set have a backlight setting that can be set to minimum to see if the time between shutdown increases.

What you can do is use a hairdrier to warm up part of the circuit to see if you can speed up the time it takes to shutdown.
If you're lucky enough that heating up a specific area of the board does speed up time to shutdown then you could use a narrow tube to minimise the area being heated until you can identify the component that may be causing the problem
