So i ran tests on the power supply and all of the voltages going to the main board are fine. I tested all of the capacitors on the psu with an esr reader and they all pass. All diodes pass also. But when a reading is done on the 4 pin white led connector on the top of the board, the voltages will flicker to 5Vdc for a fraction of a second and go out again. For that fraction, the LED backlights light up. Anyone have any clues to this situation?

Quick flash of backlights or flashing backlights are both symptoms of bad backlights. Especially on LN, LB or LF series.

If your leds flicker then you must have a high voltage at the connector in order to light them up. The voltage may sharply spike at switch on and then drop quite rapidly.
Recheck the voltages at each pin to chassis at switch on and repeat for all four pins.
Quite can't see what is given on the circuit board but it looks like one set of leds run at 113V and the second set at 170VWilling to help but I'm no expert.Comment

About $32 also on Ebay. Purchase from any one of the guys from Tucker, Ga. They get them from China and stock them in the US. About 4 days delivery timeComment

There, notice the two for 32 dollars are from the U.S., look at compatible models in their description: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...acat=0&_sop=15Comment

Ok so these LEDs worked fine but i ended up breaking about half of the clips off that keeps the white panel from touching the leds. Anyone know what these are called so i can order new ones? I can see the round shape of the led covers on the screen when watching tv.Last edited by Jackching; 03-10-2021, 02:29 PM.Comment

Whatever is in the picture there. They're called standoffs are they? Go to 7:40 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4wNc3hF4JILast edited by Jackching; 03-10-2021, 03:02 PM.Comment

I remove mine from the back of the panel. Push down on skinny part of tab and slide back.Comment

Could you have glued the broken standoff's. Superglue or something similar.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: LG 50LF5800-UA Backlights flicker on and off
So anyway i put all the broken standoffs back on with glue but can still see two leds shining through the screen when it's on. It's like they are brighter then the rest or something. They are especially visible when there is a lot of white on the screen in those areas. I cant figure it out. I got them from aliexpress. Maybe they're faulty. Is it possible to put the light filters back in upside down?Last edited by Jackching; 03-12-2021, 02:58 PM.Comment

by fixit007I picked up this TV that the prior owner said - just died.
Tested the fuse - burnt. A dead capacitor is visible too on the hot side (CP801). Got the replacement power board (cheaply - used). Replaced the board - the TV turned ON!
Now, about a month later (yesterday) I noticed the left side of the screen was flickering from time to time. That was already happening with the antenna input, not through HDMI.
Also, some glitchiness with a Fire stick on HDMI3 - I hit an app with quick dark screen in stick, the TV goes - no input. Then I had to choose the stick... -
by CapacitorialHello guys,
I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
On The TCON...-

by max789Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.
I made the following tests:
1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.
So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from... -

PSU BOARD: 40-L402H8-PWD1CG
it shows not even a flash of backlight when powering up.
but the tv appeas to turn on and i can hear the sound of the menus moving and clicking. i can power down the tv with the button.
testing the backlights with my tester all 4 strings lit up and showed similar voltage drops. around 110 or so.
unplug mb and leave only psu plugged into backlights (PSU + BL SELF TEST MODE?) does not light the backlights.
i do see 24v but 0v on PSON and BLON (i didnt write this down tho so cant be sure)

by gjgibHello, this might be embarassing since I consider it a dumb question but keeps me kinda stuck sometimes in my journey.
I want to know if there is any post in this forum which explains my questions. A) When, where and how do I know when X voltage line is input or output. Example:
I'm battling with this IC to understand it's voltages. It's from non-turning-on Lenovo Ideapad 3 15iil05 - NM-D461.
I see some lines like +5VL / +5VALW / V9B+ / +3VALW being okay and some others like 1.8VALW / +0.6VS / +2.5V_DDR. I just know that some of them are bad or missing,... - Loading...
