    Thanks for all the hints.
Yes, with the tape or without it, when the U ribbon was disconnected, the screen was not working. Only the backlight started to work, but there was no LG logo shown up.
I'm quite happy with the current results, as I spent only 120Eur for the TV and list additional 150Eur for the parts. The bonus parts I will try to sell, as they were not needed.
Those thin lines are visible only from a really short distance. It was really exiting to learn how all those elements works togeter.

ok... thanks for trying this. Just ensure we are on the same page. You did the disconnect of the "U" cable without the tape in place or with the tape in place? You are certainly close to getting this working well. Hopefully the last step is within sight. good luck.

The problem is in the third driver so the U ribbon doesn't affect the display. When it is disconnected, than there is no picture on the display. The line which blinks is not broken from any sides. I will try to fix the masking, to disable only the 9th pin, to chceck if those vertical lines are show due to masking too mamy pins.

i dont think there are any shorted smd.. its open circuit at the panel .. so the t-con shutting down.. i faced once with 65 4K made by vestel with LG IPS panel, there was small broken at right corner down on lcd glass which it break one line on the thin film print circuit under the glass , when i terminated this part the T-CON start working..

The second t-con works in the same way. I think that I will try to look for the broken cap right now.
The screen works, but there are horizontal stripes visible on the left side of the panel. It is visible only from a short distance

so as you wrote pin 9 was active at time vcc cut off, so its sending SOS signal.. normally SOS signal will turn off the T-CON first. as i remember you wrote before you owned another T-CON, so with it trace the connectivity of this PIN9 if it goes to SPI/eeprom on T-CON via L or R

    I'm back, with some success
I was able to run the LCD panel, so it doesn't stops anymore. What was done? I have blocked a error signal from the panel driver to the t-con board. With a scotch tape I blocked first 10 pins on the third ribbon, which connects the t-con and panel driver boards.
TV started, but I had to reset it wit a service remote control, as it was in the power only mode, after my previous actions. I'm attaching the message that was shown by the TV in this state. It shows the software version and a short guide how to run it to the user menu. Now I have the picture from the external source (laptop with HDMI output).
Probably I can see now, why it goes to the protection mode. There is a blinking line at the top of the screen. I made a video, how it looks.
So now I need your help guys. What should I try to check, to identify the root cause of this blinking line. The line is visible only on the bright background. With a Youtube menu, or when the black backgroud is displayes, all works fine.

well i never saw LG panel display logo then go protection because of driver even if the screen smashed it will display and never send signal to shut down.. but LG mainboards it function with specific IR code signal, same to lg OLED even the original RC cant turn it on but service remote turn it with power only..
this why i went to inspect the RC of this set and the operation manual of it... it till same story i writing it now.

the problem with the "gross disconnecting" of the tcon to panel cables, you loose a lot of the signals that are required for the "sanity" of the system. By doing a smaller subset of the hardware "isolation", you have a better chance of getting some where in terms of system startup. Your pictures seems to show a problem more on the side than the bottom... my guess.

In post #11, on the picture driver_3_1.jpg are the two ribbons that goes to the TCON. But each pair of the driver boards is connected with the mentioned "U-ribbon". You can see the connector on the pictures "driver_3_4" and "driver _4_1".
@budwich: Thanks for the hint, I will try that. I afraid, that the broken driver is the third board, so if it is a first in line, from the TCON, than it will not start until I find the fail. I thought that with two sides of the panel, when I disconnect the half, I will get a part of the screen on. But only when all four ribbons are conencted, the logo apears. Probably the whole panel must be operational to get the proper picture on the display

yes but those pictures are only focused on the board to panel cables and don't show the entire board.

you could try doing a slightly different "cable disconnection" test which might help isolate the bad side of the panel without impacting as much drivers so that perhaps the shutdown is not activated.
Basically, look along the bottom of the set at the edge boards. On each half of the bottom, there is likely two edge boards which are interconnected with a "U" type cable that is unclampable. Unclamp / disconnect the "U" cable. Leave all the tcon to panel cables connected. See if the set starts up differently. Do the same test again with the other side to see if there is anything different. IF you are lucky, you might get the set past protection. Go from there.

This line on the screen is visible only when the third driver is connected. After a few power on actions, this line is not even visible with all the drivers connected, during the logo shows up. The screen unloads itself only with this 3rd board connected. Without it, it stays white, and the horizontal line is not visible
So I suppose that it will be a problem somewhere on this third IC driver. I will measure the capacitors next week. Those drivers boards are symetrical, so it should be possible to find the bad component by a comparision
yours panel nothings special at it... it could find at other lg tvs...
the second broken set, is there way for you to test both t-cons you have on it... if it give sign on menu or input ???

Sceptre X505BV - Logo appears for 1 sec then backlight shuts off, LEDs tested good
    by events.b
Hello, this TV currently has me stumped. As the title states, when I power on the unit, the backlight comes on for 1 second then shuts off. The TV is still on, and I can see the video if I shine a flashlight on the screen.

Using the LED backlight tester I was able to confirm all LEDs are illuminating and seem to be working correctly when independently powered by this tester, so that leads me to believe there is something wrong with the power supply board.

Perhaps the great minds here can help me figure it out, as I don't see any thing obviously wrong with it. The...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
    by JaquesPratt
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

ASUS ROG Strix G713QR - Keyboard, backlight and side LEDs don't work
    by hollox123
Hello, I have an "ASUS ROG Strix G713QR" laptop, and for approx. 3 months I have the following problems:

    1. Laptop keyboard doesn't work
    2. The backlight on the laptop keyboard doesn't work
    3. The x2 side LEDs (red) on the laptop don't work

The power button works, the touchpad works, and all the USB, HDMI, Ethernet, etc. ports work.

I already tried to reinstall all the drivers and reinstall Windows. So I don't know what to try anymore that is software-related.

But I am strongly aiming that it is somehow a BIOS-related problem,...

Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U - Replaced Backlight LEDs but now no image/display or garbled
    by signal.quest
I have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...
