Panasonic TX-P42GT30B 7 Red Blink Code

Hi All,

A neighbor has contacted me about their 10 year old TV that does not power up but just gives the 7 red blinks.

Before I commit to taking the back off do you have any thoughts?

It's not that hard of a repair. Usually 4 shorted igbt's on the SC board. Take a continuity reading across the 2 pins of the power connector (unplugged) on the SC. If your meter beeps, you have the shorted igbt's. Post a picture of the SC board. Also, see how many of the mounting screws are loose.
